          Description

The Hypercharger has continued to evolve to meet the needs of the performance minded rider. Taking what we've learned from Mike Roland's testing & development of our Wild Things Performance® Products & the combined efforts of our talented design staff, this is without a doubt thebest flowing Hypercharger we have ever produced. There are no sacrifices with the Pro-R Hypercharger, the frontal opening is huge & the vacuum operated butterflies allow for almost unrestricted airflow to the filter under high-load riding situations. In addition the outer cover features an incorporated scoop to direct air into a high-flow, washable foam filter element paired to one of the best flowing K&N filter elements on the market. And thanks to the carefully designed interior shapes, air flow is smooth & precise, delivering maximum power. Complete with mounting hardware & crankcase breather kits.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Aesthetics vs. Practicality I purchased this last summer for my Honda VTX1300S and have not been terribly impressed. For something that is mostly aesthetic it caused too much grief resulting in my returning to the stock Air Box. All that being said I live in a harsh environment, at about 370m (1,200 ft.) abv. sea level which could cause certain issues esp. when dealing with Air/Fuel Mixtures. The install is fairly easy, however I ultimately had issues with the vacuum hoses being shaken loose on long rides. Also there were minor fitment issues that required a bit of tooling e.g. some of the pre-drilled holes were too small for the screws to go through. I also found that the manifold gasket was cracked when I took the hypercharger off. Further, Kuryakyn's customer "service" guys were dicks which is mostly beyond the point except if you need any replacement parts e.g. some of the small irregular screws they will tell you they can't ship those separately and you 'must' buy the whole install kit which is approx. $80USD. Lastly, depending on how tall you are, this will change your riding position slightly. I am 182cm (6ft) and my knee would press right up beside the hypercharger which is mostly fine, but I tend to do a lot of long distance riding and after a while any normally minor inconvenience can wear your nerves down - although it really isn't as bad as I'm making it sound - it's just different. Take this review with a grain of salt as I am a novice "wrench", and the thing does look cool, and it's pretty baller when the butterfly's get flapping but you are going to have to dial in your carb (if you are not fuel injected) and get that proper A/F mixture as this will substantially increase your air intake. Hopefully this offers you some perspective and allows for an informed purchase - again - I am not an expert this is just my one-off experience. Full disclosure I may purchase that install kit and have another kick at the can this summer (I do love the look of this thing). Happy Riding.
