I installed it before trying the rack in the receiver, when I tried to install the rack in the receiver, one side slid in perfectly but the other wouldn’t go in, so I tried to force it by inserting the right side in the left hole and prying it a bit, after a good 20 Minutes of working it, it finally went in, but really tight, I pried it and the weld gave out, it was still strong enough for me and my son to go for a camping trip with the cooler on the rack, but I will have to get it re-welded, other than that it is a great system, easy to install and use, I guess I got a defective one but it does the job perfectly

Purchased this rack to carry extra luggage on a 4 week trip across Canada. Easy to install and load. No problems with this item at all.

what is the size of the basket?
The basket is 18 in. Long and 12 in. Wide. Length is side to side.
