I bought this back in July for our bike trip in August. Worked really good to hold my phone and looks good on the bike also. I also have a bluetooth headset on my helmet so I can also answer if someone calls.

Questions
Is that a RAM ball behind the plate?
If by RAM you mean the ball snapping into the socket no. The ball is held between the socket and plate with two allen head bolts through the socket flange to the the plate.
