I measured the inside diameter of my throttle side grip, and ordered the 1" grip set. When they arrived, I really liked the feel of them, but my bike has heated grips and thus both bars have a sleeve on them, and they are both 1" diameter. This is not normal for most bike! Also, the wire for the grip heaters comes out from the end of the bar and thus the end caps with these grips can not fit in. I really liked the feel of these grips. I ended up buying 2 sets of BiltWell 1" grips with a closed end, and they do not feel nearly as nice. Sure, they were less than half the price but do not feel as nice on the hands.

Questions
Is one slightly larger to allow for the throttle tube? (1'' bars, 1 1-8'' at throttle side)
Yes, 1 grip is always slightly larger to accommodate the throttle side.
