Quality Product
These are good, quality-made bags! They hold their shape well, but definitely need saddlebag supports behind them for safety. There are zippers for quickly removing/attaching each bag to/from the seat strap. I like the side-opening of these over a top-opening bag... makes it easier to see & grab what you need without having to dig past everything on top to get to something at the bottom.
The rain covers are definitely only 'water resistant', as advertised... after riding in rain with the covers on, there was dampness inside the bag, so you'll want to pack accordingly (eg, ziplocs), and put the covers on at the beginning of your ride if you think you'll hit rain.
The rain covers are cleverly stored in a pocket on the back side of each bag; I was a little worried this would make them hard to get at when needed, but it wasn't much of an issue actually. The bottom of the cover attaches to the bag with a velcro tab located inside the storage pocket, and the elastic cord & cord-stop/lock sit at the top to snug the cover over the bag... I clipped this cord to one of the mounting hooks, so there was no way the cover could get blown away.
Overall, I'd say I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend them if you need soft bags and don't mind them not being waterproof.

Questions
no reviews on these bags, all I can find online is gran-throw over. my question, 2011 fatbob, doesn't have a fixed rear end, its a swing arm. How do the bags fit/work with the swing arm style motorcycle? Supports needed? to these fly like dogs ears?
I got the Xkursion bags to replace the Gran throw over ons on my wife's '07 Vrod. The Xkursion are a lot smaller but a lot sturdier than the Gran throw over ones which sag and look terrible after a few years. Hopefully the Xkursion bags won't do that. I made brackets for the Gran throw over ones and am hoping to use the same brackets for the Xkursion bags but I won't know until I get the bike out of winter storage next month. I would definitely recommend brackets to hold the bags in place.

Will the saddlebag maintain its shape with a 10-lb tool roll inside (laying along bottom of bag)? Are the rain covers waterproof? How securely do they attach to the bag when in use... risk of blowing off while riding?
Well, I ordered the bags and will now answer my own questions ;)
These are good, quality-made bags! They hold their shape well, but definitely need a set of saddlebag supports behind them for safety. My tool roll didn't stress the shape of the bag at all. I like the side-opening of these over a top-opening bag... makes it easier to see & grab what you need without having to dig past everything on top to get to something at the bottom.
