Leat 3DF 5.0 impact shorts
Only used twice, but so far good. Middle layer so will prob be hot in summer. Wear over cycling shammy but underneath mtn bike shorts. I am size 34 but XL right size for my situation.
Will use for pond hockey as well. Had 2 new hips installed, happy w this product.

Great Shorts but…
expensive but then again isn’t all gear these days. I have a lot of Leatt gear and it’s all very well made but I think the padding at the tail bone of these shorts could be bigger and better and a shammy would be nice too. The shorts are extremely well vented and the fancies is very comfortable. If hip protection is your priority these have it.

Do you wear shorts twice?
I fell off my MTB, good size bruise on my hip. So I bought these. Sizing was good, pads where I fell. Heaven forbid anyone wear these without another pair of shorts of top. Well ventilated they are..
..now I wear Impact Shorts and shorts!

They work very well, my boy tested them
The boy took a decent spill on his side in the woods on a hare scramble. The bruising is a straight line from where the shorts coverage ended. Protected area has no brusing. They worked very well.

High Quality good fit
These shorts have great crash protection and are not bulky. I am using them off road and also on road under kevlar jeans. Expensive but quality is.

Will this protect me from ROAD RASH im looking for something to cover my “butt” because i have gear for the rest of my body but i cant find anything cheap besides this.
Its more for impact it would probably help a little for road rash but for street riding I'd get a good pair of riding pants.

Would this be the best choice if I am looking for mainly tailbone coverage? Or is there a better model for that.?
These shorts have a small wallet sized pad higher up essentially below the waist of the shorts. If you want tailbone padding they are not the best choice. I wear them for motocross, and they have been “tested” a few too many time’s, and have done a great job. When worn out I will order the same ones again.
