These provide excellent protection at the cost of comfort. I doubt an elbow pad could offer more protection than these do. I can really feel the elbow pads when I straighten my arms and they flop around a little bit.
I really wish these were offered with straps instead of the cloth elastic tube. It would make them a lot more comfortable.
