Description
The easiest and quickest way to remove and install an engine and/or transmission, Mac's PiVOT is an articulated engine lift plate that allows the angle of an engine and transmission to be easily adjusted while on a hoist, making installation and removal quick and stress-free.
Mac's PiVOT bolts to the intake manifold and has an adjustable arm that controls the tilt of a complete V-8 engine and transmission up to a 35° angle. Its direct bolt-on design eliminates lashing problems encountered with chains and removes the difficulty of finding chain attachment points to keep the engine level side to side. The compact design clears the firewall when the engine and transmission are tilted upward and prevents scratches on freshly painted firewalls.
The body is fabricated of thick steel plate with full-length welds. With a 1,200 lbs capacity, it resists bending unlike other adjustable lift plates. Grade 8 cap screws rated to 1,500 lbs. provide safe use for all iron and aluminum manifolds. It fits most two- and four-barrel carburetors, including Rochester, Carter, Holley, Stromberg, and the 1050 Holley Dominator. Installation of a flathead and '39 transmission using Mac's PiVOT and optional adapter plate can take as little as 18 minutes.
