perfect solution.
Installed this kit after a carb replacement. The old cable did not connect to it correctly. This repair kit fitted perfectly and was easy to install.

Will this kit work on a 1982 harley davidson fxr with a stock throttle grip/housing and a mukuni hs 40 carb
Probably. I did a rough measurement and added a few inches. One end is adjustable then I cut off the excess after running thru the shielding.
