Thank you Metzeler
I'm restoring a 77 BMW R60/7 Airhead for my son. I was pleased to find this tire was still available. FortNine delivered on their promises as advertised and I received the tire on time and in great shipping condition. I can't comment on the tires performance as the bike is not completed, but given I took a worn out 20 year old version of the exact version off the bike says enough.. Thank you for still making this tire available.

Looks right on my old Airhead BMW.
In mostly "old guy" touring use, I get about 11,000km out of a rear ME77 on my 1978 BMW. It gives a good ride and restores the handling that was missing with the worn tire!

Good airhead tires
I have used metzler tires on this BMW airhead since new in 1981. Good tire, proper sizing and reasonable wear. I have found using stock style of tire and size maintains the handling of the older bikes.

ForteNine Came through
I was searching high and low but, FortNine was able to source the scarce commodity of the Metzler tire for my classic BMW R65LS.

Made for this bike.
Always ran Metzelers on my BMWs. No reason to change.

Questions
My 1983 BMW R100RT has always had a tube-type tire. The Metzler ME77 Vintage line Rear tire i received is Tubeless. My installer will mount it tubeless. Will it be O.K. on those rims? The rims were cleaned up really well. Thanks, John
Hi John,
If your bike has spokes, it is always recommended to use a tube in your tire. Even though the type of tire you have does not require a tube to run. Alternatively without spokes, there is no reason for a tube in this tire.
