          Description

The Supersport tire for your daily leans, enhancing the pleasure of riding without worrying about the unexpected, be that changing tarmac or weather conditions.

METZELER SPORTEC M9 RR innovative chord technology has contributes to a larger space for the rubber to dynamically perform, without effecting the stiffness. The strong structure provides a quick and predictable response to riding inputs whilst at the same time delivers an enjoyable, smooth and relaxed riding experience.

Thanks to innovative mixing process and to ultra-fine silica, SPORTEC M9 RR features full silica in all compounds for both front and rear sizes. SPORTEC M9 RR performs optimally also at low temperature. The speed of warm up, allows you to confidently enjoy your first corner. The sharp central contact patch efficiently moves standing water into the adjacent longitudinal grooves. The grooves deliver outstanding stability, by draining more water as speeds increase and as the weather worsens.

The Cap&Base dual-compound layout consists of a soft compound on the side to promote high cornering grip. This is supported by a harder layer to ensure consistency and thermal balance. Regardless of how wet the surface is, or the level of the tarmac, significant levels of grip is provided. The directional center grooves deliver stability when upright. Mid-lean grooves maximize the grip to deliver flawless feedback when cornering. The slick shoulders further enhance your riding confidence when at full lean.

          • Maximum performance throughout the entire tire lifespan
            • Perfected thermal balance - Full silica prevents overheating and preserves tire integrity, for the maximum performance throughout the entire lifespan.
            • Extended dual-compound - Dual-compound for both front and rear sizes optimizes abrasion resistance and extends mileage by more than 10% (compared to METZELER SPORTEC M7 RR).
          • Slick shoulders
            • Slick shoulders for continuous compound footprint in full lean.
          • Mid-lean groove layout
            • Massive mid-lean water drainage.
            • Painless feedback while cornering, for an absolute riding control.
            • Maximized wear uniformity.
          • Central slick stripe
            • Narrow slick center carves through standing water.
            • Longitudinal grooves maximize water drainage.
            • Grooves deliver outstanding stability as speed increase and the weather worsens.
          • Strong structure
            • Quick, predictable whilst relaxed response at all speeds.
          • Cap&Base dual compound layout

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing tire I never do reviews but these bad boys deserve it. These tires are very sticky for an aggressive street rider. I’m not a track rider but these tires make for a very fun and fast pace street ride.Haven’t tried them in rain however. Other than that 5 stars all around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Metzler M9RR Bought a set of Metzler M9RR's to replace my stock Bridgestone Battlax S20 tires on my Ninja 1000. The M9's grip and warm up time is far superior to the S20 tires, which is exactly what I was looking for. See how much mileage I get out of them ;) but so far so good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Yuk! I've used Metzeler's M series since the M5's. I ran at least 15 sets of M5's - they were great. Could not break them loose. The M7's were not as sticky, I was able to lock up the brakes and skid but they were still acceptable. Just put a set of the M9's on, the amount of physical strength required to steer the bike makes is almost unrideable. From the M5's forward they seem to be declining. The M9's have ~500 km's on them and they're getting pulled & replaced. The only way I could run these tires would be with offset triple clamps to reduce the trail. I'm shocked at how much physical effort is required to steer the bike. The only conclusion I can draw is that they are decreasing the profile of the tire. Mind you, my second gen 600RR is sensitive to that. It needs an egg-shaped tire for proper fall in. The thing is, the M5's were good, the M7's were worse, and now the M9's are just impossible. I think the reason people rate tires so highly after a change is not actually accurate, it's because their old tires were gone and at that point just about any new tire is great, by comparison. But these M9's? I've never had to force the bike around as much in the history of this bike. They're getting pulled for that reason and that is a waste of $500.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tire for the price Five star review, based on street performance in the dry. I'll be interested to see how they do at a moderate track pace, and on the street in the wet, and also how long they last. But initial impressions are very good - plenty of tire for a street-ridden sportbike, and pretty economical as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the new tires I really appreciated how fast the tires came. I am partial to Metzeler tires. These tires make the bike feel planted. I’ve had them on other bikes I have owned over the years and would not hesitate to purchase them agin. Thank you Fort Nine

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I needed the best performance tires for the street I purchased a set of M9 RR for my 2011 Hayabusa. I purposely purchase an oversize tire in the rear for my bike. From 190/50 to 200/55. As I feel the bike needed; Hayabusa has massive torque and horsepower. Also to correct for the 4 to 5 % of factory's error in the speedo. So far, it's working better than I expected. Quick response, massive Group in corners. It gave me a lot more confidence in powering out of the corner. I live in Edmonton Alberta Canada. This morning is -2c out. The tires work really well in cold. As with other motorcycle tires, turn hockey puck out in cold weather.

          Questions

What's the difference between R and ZR?

          Asked by: BrianDee
The only difference is in the name indicated speed rating. They're both Radial tires but the ZR has a speed rating of up to 240km/h. The R has a speed rating of up to 170 km/h. Here's a great video for decoding tire sizes: https://youtu.be/UMuHIEQH7sQ
