Works as intended
This is an item that has to put up with a lot during use, so is made of strong material.
My use was for a Harley with a 40mm OD carb stub, so at the max.
I found that I needed to warm this up in hot water, and use lube to fit it, as it was tight.
I left it fitted to the carb off the bike for a few days to stretch it to size a bit.
Worked good after that.

Will this adaptor work for a 38mm carb with 3 inch bolt spacing.
No, it has mounting holes, that are 70mm (2.7") on center and an inner diameter of 39.5mm.
