The protection I was looking for
This skid plate flares out on both sides to provide off-road worthy protection that a simple glide plate does not. The fit is perfect, it is exactly what we wanted. Bought this after cracking the inner clutch cover during an off-road ride. Had this skid plate been on the bike, that would not have happened.

Solid skid plate
I'm happy with the skid plate I received. It is slightly different than photo. It has vent holes cut into it which is better for the 650 's air cooled engine. Buy it (and it's 5 bucks cheaper than the msr one).

Great product with real good coveidge
I put this on a couple of months ago have +-30hours riding in the mountains lots of rocks, I'm sure it saved my pump and casing a couple of times.

Its okay
The hole is off for the oil drain. You would think moose would do something about that being a gen 1. Guess I have to make a butcher job of it.....thanks moose

Good construction, great price
Compare the price of this to the OEM, and then come back and buy this one. Fit my 2016 XT250 like a glove, literally just use the mounting screws which go right into factory mounts.

Cheap Insurance
A friend of mine cracked his engine against a rock and before he knew it all the oil leaked out and the motor seized.
I can't remember how much he paid for a new motor but a skid plate is much Cheeper.
Easy to install.
Looks awesome.
Very rugged.
I have a 2015 xt250 and this plate fit without any problems.
I have already bashed it off a few rocks and barely a mark on it.

Works Great
I put this on a 2009 DR-Z 400 and a friends 2007 DR-Z 400 and its one of the few additions that actually only took 10 minutes to put on and it has saved my bike multiple times. One of the best upgrades I have done on the bike yet.
