Questions

Why good for only 5 oil changes? Does it self destruct after the fifth oil change?

Because Motion Pro wants to sell more of those :). Seriously though, thermal cycling does little good to magnets. That being said, if it still strong after 5 oil changes, just keep using it. Be careful when sticking it onto/removing from the filter,- it is quite thin and fragile. They work well though, you will see some metal particles stuck to the magnet as well as the oil filter insides.
