Perfect fit for 1978 Yamaha XS500
This throttle tube fits exactly like the OEM throttle tube. As the XS500 is a single cable system, only the first slot is used.

Realistic expectations
I bought this item and installed it on my Mt-07 It increases the the throttle cable diameter well and the bike feels more responsive without feeling twitchy. You will need to adjust your cables to allow for the recommended free play in the throttle but that is a simple process. For the price I don't see how you can go wrong.

Works well on FZ-07
One thing to note is that this product isn't black, it's an off white. You won't notice the difference on your bike though. I watched a couple of youtube vids before ordering and followed along with what I remembered from the instructions. The install is easy if you follow the advice given on those videos and forum posts.
I was worried that the throw would be too short and it would be too sensitive, but it's not a drastic change from what I can tell. It's a cold April and I haven't really been out on the bike with it yet.
