The Dakota™ 4.5 Windshield is an alternative to a hardcoated polycarbonate windshield. The Dakota 4.5 is named for its material thickness of 3/16" (4.5mm.) This is a heavy gauge windshield! The Dakota 4.5 features the same quality trim and chrome plating as our Heavy Duty™ windshields, and uses the same Mount Kit (sold separately). The Dakota's timeless, traditional style will add a lot to your cruiser.

Great windshield
I'm real happy with the Dakota 4.5 windshield. It's a quality product that works and looks great. It has approximately 3-4 inches of height adjustment available without having to re-position the mounting hardware on the forks. It also offers a decent amount of tilt adjustment which is nice. While it's not considered a quick release shield, it can be removed from the mounting hardware in less than 5 minutes by undoing four bolts. The shield has a very slight tint which is a nice look. Overall, I'm very pleased with the windshield and would not hesitate to recommend it.

Not what I expected.
The windshield was not designed for my 2007 Honda 1300 VTX. I am 5' 11". I had to spend almost $30 to get the bottom corners cut away to allow the windshield to be lowered to the standard safe height it should have been in the first place - top level with my nose so that I can look over the windshield to avoid distortion. The National Cycle Tech confirmed the standard. Plus the chrome brackets on the front of the windshield have lifted off the windshield to a degree.

Just as advertised
Bought this for my wife's S40. She is very happy with it and I found it easy to install with the mounting kit. Good quality and very sturdy. Overall very pleased.

Dakota 4.5 windshield
The windshield did require special mounting hardware to put on, and was a little pricey, but in the end it was a perfect fit and looked first class with all the chromed parts.Put on about 2500 kms with windshield. Works great ,looks even better

Good bye wind!
Very impressed with the quality of this windshield. Now I feel like I am riding a cruiser. Installed relatively simple, with some wiggle room in adjusting for the desired height.
