Convert your bike from a solo cruiser to a 2-up tourer - and back again - in under 5 seconds, with no tools! National Cycle's Paladin® QuickSet™ Mount Kit uses an innovative, key-lockable mounting system that's designed for an optimal fit on each specific make and model. All moving components are made from stainless steel for years of reliable, smooth operation, and all visible metal components are either polished stainless steel or finished in bright, show-quality chrome. The Mount Kit is designed to complete the Back Rest/Luggage Rack assembly into one complete unit. After unlocking, just lift the levers on the bottom of the Back Rest's side plates and pull up to remove the complete assembly from the motorcycle. Now that's easy!

Awesome set-up
Bought this about two weeks ago and am pleasantly surprised on how easy it was to mount on the bike. Once that was done, the backrest/luggage rack go on and off in about 5 seconds. Easy to put on when I need it and simple to remove when I don't. Excellent product - no regregts

Nice to have the flexibility
The Paladin system is nice for those of us that like a clean look without a Backrest, but want to be able to offer the comfort of one when riding 2 up.

Works well with back rest and rack
I had one fender mounting hole on vtx 1300c which had a stripped thread so I installed a nut on inner fender which resolved the quick release mount problem. This was not anything related to the mounting kit itself but had been like this from the previous owner.

Am I reading this price right? If I order the backrest assy (140431) and the luggage rack (140428) individually the total price is less than this sale price. Are these all the same parts?
This is the mounting kit only and is required to be purchased along with parts 140431 and 140428.
