Rated 5 out of 5 by from Protection at it's best! This is the best coverage windshield that I have ever ridden with and I have them on 3 bikes. This spring I had a collision with a deer and attribute this windshield with saving me from worse injuries. As luck had it the deer impacted the windshield only. The strength of it bounced the deer off and laid the bike down away from direction of travel. The windshield did break into many pieces but I am positive it saved my _ss.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A fairing for a naked bike. The OEM windshield on a Ducati GT1000 offers little protection and there seem to be no after market windshields made to fit on my bike. I ordered the Plexifairing 3 hoping to make it work, but cautioned by the sellers that it may not fit. But the windshield fits perfectly around the headlamp, signal lamps and mirrors. The only problem is securing it in place. I wanted to leave the OEM windshield bracket in place to be able to easily convert it back to a totally stock bike with OEM windshield. I used a combination of the OEM hardware and the Plexifairing 3 hardware for the top mount, while the lower attaches easily to the fork. I finished the project shortly before the cold weather set in so I have only taken a few short rides. The protection from the wind is so much better and the buffeting has been almost eliminated. Can't wait to do my first long ride!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Takes the chill off Had a high windshield with lowers and still had a lot of wind coming around the tank and hitting a guy right in the chest and face this plexfairing seems to have cut that down considerably and makes the early morning commutes much more pleasant.

          Questions

What is the height of the windshield? I am a shorter rider and often ride through the rain, so having to look through the screen vs over it is a concern.

          Asked by: Mark
Hi Mark, I can't give you the actual height of the unit as shipped, as I had to cut the windscreen to fit my need. This is likely what you will need to do as well, and this is acceptable, as there are guidelines on what to do for this included in the instructions. I would suggest masking off the section to be cut with tape, and using a hand saw only. You can then sand and buff the cut edge with fine paper and buffing compound. It is an easy task, and if you are careful cutting, you will never even know the windscreen was modified. They explain how to measure the proper height to cut, and the instructions were pretty good. It is a bit fussy to install, and will take some time to do the adjustments, but they are great windscreens and well worth it. How much you have to cut off will depend on the bike and your riding position. I am 5' 6" and had to take off about 4 inches. my son is just under 6' tall and rides almost an identical bike, and still had to take off about the same amount. Hope this helps.

Does this windshield mount to 1" or 7/8" bars?

          Asked by: JonO
7/8" ( I am surprised that the product info doesn't say this) I have had 3 different Virago's and have mounted this windshield on all of them. Can't beat it for wind protection. Also hit a deer with one of the bikes and am sure that this windsheild saved myself and the deer from direct physical contact. From what I remember the deer's rear end contacted the upper part of the windsheild and bounced the deer ahead and my bike and myself backwards. The plexiglass was all busted up but myself and bambi survived.
