You get what you pay for
As a simple wind cheater this is a good buy. However, riding into a gale with torrential rain it definitely does NOT keep you dry. I am not sure where the moisture gets in, but by the end of a long ride the front of my jacket underneath was quite damp. My recommendation would be to spend a bit more for a more effective jacket if you are looking for true waterproofing.

works as advertised
bought this on sale as a just-in-case stowaway for my commuter. have worn it in heavy rain (not downpour) and kept me dry as it claims. also good as a windbreaker. material supple enough to keep noise down. one nitpicky thing is the storage bag is not sewn to the jacket and i have lost already. small thing however overall a good find.

Fails to do its job.
Despite this jacket being absolutely covered in wonderful forever chemicals that are meant to make it waterproof, it 100% is not. My arms are always wet from where my actual waterproof gauntlets end to my armpits. It’s cheap, so there’s that, but seriously, buy Klim instead.

Water entered around the zipper
The first time I used this was on a very raining day. I was coming home from moto-camping and, over a 90 minute period, there were times of torrential downpours. When I stopped under an overpass I knew I was getting wet through the jacket; by the time I got home and took it off, I found I was very wet down the center of my chest along the zipper. The rest of me was dry, but the zipper needs better waterproofing.

Fits well. Wish it would rain
I bought two of these for spares in the camper. They pack down small but are a challenge to repack into the pocket. I’d like to tell you how they do in the rain but honestly it hasn’t rained here in weeks and there are forest fires all around us. I can tell you they fit like advertised and look good. Zippers are covered but would not stand driving your bike without a fairing. I would expect some water to be driven through. There are drawstrings at the waist but no attachment points for pants. Overall as a rain coat they are great and for packing they fold into something like a 4”+ 6” by 1” thick bag though the pocket zipper is small enough to be a challenge to remove or replace the coat.
That’s my two cents

Questions
Do you suggest to choose one size up from our motorcycle jacket (wearing over it) or the size are larger than standard sizes?
Your regular size should be considered for the Nelson-Rigg Compact Pack Jacket since it is conceived to be able to wear something under.
