Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bag Very nice quality fabric and zippers. Size is perfect for a water bottle, wallet, phone, gps etc. The bags fits perfetly on my klr650 2014, it doesn't move around and it is easy to unclip the front of the bag to fill the tank.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit and a necessary addition. This tank bag is well priced and well built. I was an easy install on the BMW G650GS and sits firmly in place. It's very nice to have somewhere to keep those items that were always in my pockets. Now my bike is organized. Smaller than some Tank Bags but it expands and is big enough for my needs.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed zippers failed on all compartments so it is difficult to support the product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well Constructed with Plenty of Room Have been using this tank bag on and off for over a year. The reason I say on and off is because the position of it on my V-Strom seriously interferes with my ability to stand on the pegs and get my balance, I'll spare you all the specifics. Lol. It's well thought out with two exterior pockets suitable for flashlights, tire, pressure gauges, etc; and a large main interior compartment that expands to a simply staggering storage size if need be. Mind you, when you've fully extended the main storage area, it can look a little..... ridiculous. Waterproof cover can be a bit of a pain to get on, I'd recommend un-buckling the bottom two straps to make sure you get right underneath the bag with the waterproof cover. Installation is super simple, and the mounting solution means you can put this on just about any bike. NR was careful to make sure the material that backs the tank bag and buckles protects your paint from scratches.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect size Purchased for my 2016 Vstrom 650EX Fits the hump tank perfectly and both small enough and large enough at the same time. iPhone plus in case, wallet, glasses case, water bottle or camel sac all fits, when expanded. Side pockets hold USB charger and cable/ cleaning cloth notepad and pen. Not waterproof but it comes with a cover that helps keep the wet from pushing into the bag. Prefer the strap attachment rather than an iffy, boutique quick-release (extra cost bracket) and they easily go under the side panels and seat to out of the way.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Communication, poor zips. I had this bought as a gift just after purchasing my KLR in 2013. It has given good service right up until a side zipper went in Baja in 2015. After returning I emailed Nelson Rigg regarding this matter. No reply. A month ago I asked them again about heir lifetime warranty as I felt that the other zips were getting very rough to close. Tonight, 31 July 2018, on a ride one of the two main compartment zips would not close. The remaining zip is going the same way. I see no point in asking Nelson Rigg again as obviously the stated warranty seems not to be honoured. It has one star because it did given good service until the zips failed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Solid Tank Bag I've used this product for three riding seasons and it performed well and never let me down. The expandable feature was especially useful on a number of occasions when I needed the space. The waterproof cover can be a bit fiddley to cinch down but it does the job. Sits well on the bike. Reasonably priced. Happy with purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The right sized bag for dual sport riding. This is the second one of these I have owned. This is a well made product that doesn’t disappoint.

Questions

Would this bag fit the KTM Duke 790 even though it's not an adventure bike?

Asked by: IzeB
Despite the title of this bag being titled as an "adventure bag" this tank bag should fit any bike that has a Off-Road style fuel tank. This means narrow, tall fuel tanks like on an Adventure 790 or Honda XR650L (as pictured on the website). It is hard to say if it will indeed work with your 790 Duke outright as the general shape and size of that bike differs from KTM's off-road offerings that would work with this bag.

Does this fit on a none sloped tank as well or would it mount awkwardly? Is there another similar design for normal tanks?

Asked by: Larkin
Yes but it is designed to be mounted on an angle. So if it's mounted flat the opening would be leaning forward.

Can you purchase extra mounting straps for easy transfer on two different bikes?

Nelson Rigg makes replacement straps however we do not carry the replacements for this bag at the moment.

Will this bag fit properly on a Yamaha T700

Asked by: CapeRider
Its made for humpy adventure bike style tanks. So I’d suggest judge the T700 tank shape with the NR's. I like this tank bag quite a bit - didn’t want a touring sized bag but also large enough for a the day's ride important stuff. Suits perfectly and the tie on straps are just fine and very secure (no added purchase of a quick release adaptor not the higher cost of the quick release tank bags). For my riding gear, well made and simpler the better.

Does this bag fit the Kawasaki KLR?

Asked by: Johnny_P
1. From the Nelson-Rigg website: "For those riding an Adventure bike such as the BMW 1200 GS, 800 GS, 650GS, the Triumph Tiger, V-Strom, KLR650, or the SUPER TÉNÉRÉ we have you covered with our RG-1045 Adventure tank bag. I have the old CL-1045 on a KLR, the fit is as good as can be hoped without designing it just for one bike. I'll be replacing it with the RG-1045 because, read on: 2. . greenboy is right, the buckles on the new one will be better. Easier and quicker on/off for fuel cap access. 3. Don't leave it out in the sun all the time. My bike lives outside all summer and I felt secure enough to leave the tank bag on it (empty when not in use.) No sign anyone ever interfered with it but third summer, the clear plastic for the map/GPS pocket wasn't that clear anymore and fourth, it is brittle and broken.
