OE for many 1995-2014 Polaris engines
Hard to find NGK plug, that brick & mortar stores don't carry, in my area. I have been running the Champion equivalent, but have been having major doubts about it. I believe that the Champion equivalent, currently installed in a 4-stroke Polaris 500 (H.O. version, Fuji built, with the Mikuni carburetor), gives intermittent weak spark. At time of writing, while I can not confirm the fix yet, I can positively correlate that the Champion plug install coincided with the appearance of poor performance: very occasional misfires (with accompanying backfires), sudden engine stales at sustained high RPM (which are easily repeatable, if run at near to fully open, but not consistent), & sudden staling at idle (random, can idle for 5 minutes, & not do it). I think there's a spark issue causing a miss which allows (only sometimes) wetting of the plug with fuel, as waiting a couple minutes let's it start again. The machine can run at 4000-5500 RPM for hours on the trail, without issue. I have confidence in the carburetor, it has fresh fuel, bowl was drained twice, fuel was clean both times, fuel filters are new, and replaced, fuel delivery is good, solid stream from fuel line, fuel is primed, diaphragm pump is new. (Polaris' with this pump will NOT gravity prime, you need to blow air up the fuel send, then push the line onto carb, quick, the vacuum this formed will then draw fuel into the bowl - no need to taste gasoline for 2 days. Alternative: manually fill fuel bowl, and run it to put engine vacuum on the pump until primed). I'm going to be putting in this NGK BKR6E to hopefully put this MAJOR intermittent reliability-killing issue to bed, forever. It's what the manual says it should run with, and a lifelong distrust of "equivalent" spark plugs has been born in my heart.

NGK Spark Plugs
Well, a spark plug is a spark plug and NGK is a quality plug. My Polaris Sportsman 500 ATV likes it so that's all that counts.
