                  Description

The N70-2 X is the first adventure-style offroad crossover helmet on the market. Nolan used their years of experience, innovation, and commitment to high quality, to develop a helmet that can go play in the dirt. The N70-2 X has six possible configurations which you can personalize through the addition or removal of the protective chin bar, face shield and adjustable peak, all of which are included. With the chin bar and face shield installed, the rider experiences the same benefits of a full face helmet. With just the peak and chin bar installed, the helmet provides increased airflow while still providing the protection of a full face helmet and allows the use of your own goggles or glasses. With the chin bar, face shield and peak removed it becomes a true 3/4 open face helmet.

                  Features:

                  • Ultrawide Pinlock ready faceshield provides a greater field of vision
                  • Clear anti-fog Pinlock lens included

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nitpicks First polycarb helmet, pleasantly surprised at how quiet /stable this Nolan dual sport is.I remove the visor for highway travel now, at first not, and suffered buffeting . I find if its required, that the drop down sun shade is not dark enough. my head measures 58.5 cm. /23 " and large fits perfectly fine. Liners a bit thin but the bucket does not cost $800 Canuck Bucks ! also the graphite grey is not Grey it is Black . I would say this is a very good helmet for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile & Great Value I already use a Shoei Quest but wanted a quality helmet suitable for on-road touring & occasional off-road riding. This fits the bill and looks great. First thing I noticed was the superb visibility with huge eye port compared to my Shoei. On the bike the visor & anti-fog insert work great & the ventilation was fine for early Spring riding (will see how it fares in the Summer). Weightwise it's slightly heavier than my Shoei but not surprising bearing in mind the modular design & not a problem. Wind noise is higher with the peak on as expected but not excessive (I do have a screen). I'm waiting for the integrated N-Com B601 coms package so will see how well this works. Sizing guide is accurate and the Nolan M fits my 58cm head as well as my M Shoei.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice helmet Bought on sale - mid 400’s. Love the look. Fit is snug. Bought a M - my head is 56-57CM.. satisfied with the visor and how it compares to my other ADV helmets with respect to wind scooping. Wind noise is, and always has been, a factor for me - this is no exception - which is why I always wear plugs for noise reduction. Really like the options with the slide down sun visor, easy to use and provides lots of air flow without the restrictions of sunglasses needing to be taken off when it’s not as bright to arm pressure on your temples with a snug helmet. Also a cool option with the detachable chin piece that converts it to a full open face and the options for the Nolan N-com accessories I have never worn a 800-1000$ helmet so I don’t know how they compare but for 500$ this one is worth the price

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like a glove! My first good quality helmet and I am very pleased. Have to remove chin guard to put on over glasses, but not a big deal, it clicks right in easily. The pull down clear visor is PERFECTLY clear. Fall weather, haven’t checked the position of vents yet and do notice some colder air entering albeit minimal. Gonna take getting used to the chin strap/buckle though. Old school...prefer the double-D ring strap.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good fit for my huge melon I'm 6"6 and have a large, oval-shaped head. I've had to purchase 4 helmets to find one that would fit me well. The size chart runs a bit small, so I needed a 3XL. This one does the trick. Feels snug, but also feels fight. A tiny bit of extra pressure on the forehead, but that seems to be dissapating over time as it works in. It's not like other helmets I've tried where there is so much forehead pressure that I just knew it wouldn't work out. There seems to be no insulation around the ears, so it's a noisy helmet. A bit heavier, but not unbearable. The vision (field-of-view) is 10/10, best I've ever experienced. All-in-all, can't say too much that is negative about this one!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happily replaced my Arai with this Kinda like computers, I don't know what goes into making the safest helmet so, in the past, I simply bought the most expensive of the highest rated ones. Arai Signet Qs were so comfy and the Arai marketing makes me believe they were designed to be safe. Then the X series visor on my new Arai Defiant annoyed me so much (not possible to open with one hand, the Pinlock filled easily with dust, the thing jammed shut when dirty) that I had to replace it after just one frustrating season. A helmet isn't safe if you can't see through it or open it. So I went in the opposite direction, accepted the Sharp safety rating, and bought this Nolan. The price is so much lower. The field of vision is so much wider. The visor rotates so easily. It's so light. There's lots of room between my chin and the chin bar. Could it possibly be as safe as my Arais? If I'm an evidence based guy, I guess I have to accept that it is. It sure is comfortable. The visor is just the right length for the sun. I wear ear plugs so I can't say it's noisier than my past helmets. I haven't had it long enough to say whether the sun shade will break but its coverage is good and it's adequately dark. Bottom line, I'm using this for gravel and ADV riding and will continue to do so. If Nolans keep getting high safety test scores, my approach to safety will change: Instead of buying an Arai or Shoei every 7 years, I'll buy a new Nolan each time they meet a higher ECE standard, every 2 or 3 years. It's good to wear; I'll leave the rest to the safety testers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good & bad I bought the blue/black colour in late June and have put at least 1,000 kms on it. It looks great and I've received many compliments. The field of vision is comparable to my previous Bell MX9 Adventure and the flip down sun visor is great. The size large fits me the same as Bell. The removable chin bar was not a selling point for me, but its handy for quick water breaks and allergy season nose wipes. However there are several negatives: when I open the clear windscreen fully, the left side tab pops out partially. If it's closed without correcting the tab, the rubber gasket gets pulled off partially. Not a dealbreaker, but clearly a defect. I'm deducting a full star for the speaker pockets. Nolan believes you'll ditch your comm system and buy theirs, so the speaker pockets are on the small size. I had to trim a bit to fit my Uclear speakers. The helmet loses another full star for the ratchet strap. Those few seconds you save over a d-ring strap are devoured trying to adjust the strap padding so the giant ratchet isn't digging into your throat. I've managed to get the adjustment right so its fairly comfortable, but its still a huge nuisance. I won't buy another helmet with a ratchet strap. With some improvements, this could easily be a 5 star helmet. But if I had paid regular price, I would have returned it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Peeling Seal due to Pinlock I've had 5 Nolan helmets over the years and love the fit and quality, but this one seems to have a defect where the pinlock peels the seal on the the top RH and LH corners. Looking at the seal it seems the glue Nolan is using to hold the seal in place isn't very good. This may be due to Nolan making this a replaceable part as new seals can be purchased. None of our other Nolan's have done this - N100, N90, N105...

Hi, is this helmet SNELL rated?

                  Asked by: gdrew
No. This is a DOT approved. Here is a direct response from Nolan regarding the certification though: The helmets we import into the United States are DOT. In Europe they are ECE 2205. Nolan imports the legal standard for each country they import to. Nolan Helmets exceed the DOT standard, but in the USA, the ONLY legal certification is DOT. So to answer your question, NO, Nolan does not put both certifications on the Helmets

I cant seem to find any information on the helmet shape? I am hoping someone comes out with a proper long oval adventure helmet some day

                  Asked by: Egghead9302
Hey There egg shaped , this is a block shaped, Am the typical Shoei fit , have worn a TZR and still wear my " pure orange " RF 1100 in town. Took a chance on the Nolan N70 2x from FortNine . And It Fits Perfectly . Not as plush , but gives a firm grip on my jawline and no hot spots. Read on line it fits a half size small so, took a flyer on a large. Broke it in watching " The Hockey " on the couch, it was pretty tight at first , but so was the TZR . If you can " try before you buy " you might go the other Japanese manufacturer . From the comments on Web Bike World it would seem the long oval is their specialty, and has been for a long time. . Can I use my Cardo Packtalk with this Nolan?

I don't have a Packtalk, but my comms unit fits fine, and it was easy to wire up under the foam.

i am looking to buy this helmet but i am concerned with the comm situation, i have an almost brand new sena 20s evo and i don't want to switch to the nolan comm system, how good will the sena is going to fit on this helmet ?

                  Asked by: phil93
It’s not going to fit. NCOM is proprietary to Nolan in all their helmets. I had a N100-5 modular and got the Cardo Freedom 4+…got hosed like the Leafs. I eventually made Cardo fit but it meant making permanent alterations to the helmet especially the part where Cardo is supposed to “stick” to the helmet.
