It works....but....meh.
I knew buying this that it wasn't the Cadillac of sockets. So while not surprised at most of it, I was a little disappointed in a few of the features. Here's the pro's and con's as I saw them.
Pro's
- a good variety of inserts to get a good fit on a wide variety of bar sizes
- the weather proof cap fits very well and seals it up. The strap retainer for the cap is big enough (and flexible enough) that I'm not worried about it breaking
- retaining ring on the back holds well and doesn't slip.
Con's
- I'd read how much wiring was included and knew it wouldn't be enough. Installation from instrument panel area to battery on an R1200GS required close to 30" of more wire.
- the sheath on the wire is bulky. Doesn't feed or route well. I cut it off and used heat shrink to tidy it all up better
- the blade fuse holder cap broke on the first attempt to open it. You're going to be cutting into this harness anyway. I found a better fuse holder and wired that in.
