Excellent Engine guard!
The Puig engine guard was purchased in September 2017 for a BMW F 700 GS (2017 model). Ordering and delivery were seamless and fast. The price was reasonable; this is a high quality, solid item.
All of the parts arrive safely and the installation was easily managed by an owner who has only moderately useful mechanical skills. During some moments in the installation, and extra pair of hands may have been helpful (but not absolutely necessary).
The final product was highly satisfactory. Pictures of the installation show that, despite the fact that the bar is on the small side, there is good protection for the engine and the plastics. The colour is fine, even though it does not exactly match other colours on the F 700 GS frame. You be the judge.
After many kilometres, the bar continues to feel solid. One gets the impression that it will provide adequate protection against tip over advance or slow speed drops. It is difficult to assess the level of protection in higher-speed situations.

Ok engine guards
The instructions are more than useless it's one sheet. Not hard to install but not easy either, I'm fairly mechanically inclined. If you have your pegs in the furthest forward position they will not fit without modification.

Impossible de l'installer!
Le protège-moteur avait un défaut de fabrication qui fait que je n'ai jamais pu l'installer. Mais le service à la clientèle de Fortnine a été numéro 1 et j'ai été remboursé très rapidement.

Grinding necessary
I had to cut the flanged joint because it was pressing against the headers. Otherwise the fire is good and installation was smooth.
My knees touch the upper brackets which is rather uncomfortable. It may be due to the lowered seat to accommodate my girlfriend. It is not a problem for her and I think I'd be ok if I was using the stock seat.

Easy install. Compact size
Can still remove covers with guards in place. Not big and bulky like some others but wanted some protection as I’m not planning to drop my bike every week.
