Ideal for handlebars, the RAM-B-149Z-UN10U consists of a zinc-coated U-bolt base, medium length double socket arm, and the popular spring-loaded RAM® X-Grip® large phone holder. In addition, hardware is included to accommodate rails from .5" - 1.25" in diameter. The RAM® X-Grip® features an 'X' design that expands and contracts to provide a perfect fit for your device – even if it's in a case. Made of powder-coated, marine-grade aluminum, stainless steel components, and high-strength composite, this large version of the RAM® X-Grip® fits phones ranging from 1.75" to 4.5" in width and keeps your device completely functional and accessible. RAM® ball and socket technology allows for near-infinite adjustability to achieve the ideal viewing angle – while also extending the life of your phone by providing shock and vibration damping. For outdoor applications, the RAM® X-Grip® includes a device tether that is recommended for added security and peace of mind.

Fantastic for Plus with huge case!
This mount works great for the iPhone 6 Plus with a large case. I have a no name eBay case with a rubber insert, aluminum exterior with an extra layer of gorilla glass to protect the screen. Follow the included instructions to super glue the rubber feet to the arms and you're all set. Love how I can switch this left, right and/or an angle. I've got and FZ09 which means off center display for the speedometer. Mount allows me to angle the phone off to the left side and keep it right in my direct view behind the windscreen. Highly recommend!

The cross-grip was fine but the rubber mesh feature tore after only two uses, on a small
IPhone.

Bought it and used it for about a month before I lost one of the rubber pieces. Came off pretty easily while I was riding and I obviously could not stop and try to find it as it's tiny. Would be a better product if they sent replacements for it. Now there's just a piece of metal there with no rubber stopper on it so it's pretty useless. My phone won't be secure/will get scratched. Our workaround was my dad cut a hole in a black cork and put it on but that fell off as it's not fitted. Not sure if you can buy replacement parts for this but super disappointed after spending so much on it.

Robust grip
Bought this so I could monitor my progress on a very rough FSR riding my 2013 Honda CB500X. The rubber tether broke immediately while testing the RAM Xgrip in my driveway. Easy to make a new one with a bicycle inner tube. Didn’t really need it though. The Xgrip held my phone securely on 85 km of rocks, creek crossings, huge holes and bumps and jumps (small jumps). I’ve heard the pivot balls can get smooth over time and slip but that’s an easy fix with 220 grit sandpaper.

Nice but
Are use this on my dual purpose motorcycle. Definitely need to use the tether. Once my phone fell out after I drop my bike. Another time one of the rubber knobs fell off and was lost. I did contact the company and they’re sending me a replacement free of charge.

I bought this mount for my boyfriend to use on his bike. He does some off roading, trails, but also highway and commuting occasionally. So far the mount has worked perfectly for him, he’s tested it so far up to 140 km.
