Best Motorcycle Gloves of 2025

There are a million ways to pick a glove. There is only one right way.

Ride long enough and you start noticing patterns. Jackets come and go. Helmets get lighter, louder, quieter, louder again. But gloves? The good ones always nail the same three fundamentals. No matter the brand, no matter the price, if a glove can’t check these boxes, it’s cosplay—meant for parking lots, not pavement.

So, here are the three things I refuse to compromise on:

#1 — Leather Palm

When you’re on the bars, leather is life. Nothing else vibes with throttle and grip quite the same. Nothing else slides as far when you decide—gracefully or not—to dismount at speed. Look at MotoGP, Dakar, flat track, or even stunt riders in abandoned K-Mart lots: every pro wears leather palms. That consistency isn’t fashion. It’s physics.

#2 — A Hard Palm Slider

If you crash, your instinct is to put a hand out. Your palm hits, friction grabs, and suddenly your wrist is the hinge your entire body rotates around. That’s how you turn a Sunday ride into a 6-month relationship with your radius and ulna. But a hard, smooth slider turns that stick-and-twist into a glide-and-go, letting your hand skim the asphalt instead of becoming an anchor. This one feature has saved more wrists than milk saves bones.

#3 — Soft Knuckle Armour

You don’t crash knuckles-first. Unless you have a recreational habit of punching pedestrians. In the real world, your palm, scaphoid, and outer wrist take the hit. So knuckle armour should flex, absorb, and disappear until you actually need it. Hard, bulky knuckles look tough in product photos and mall parking lots. Soft armour feels better, works better, and won’t turn your hand into a medieval gauntlet.

Nail those three things, and you’ve got a glove you can trust. Miss one, and you’re rolling dice with your hands—arguably the most important tools a rider owns.
