                  Description

Comfort is an important feature no matter what you're wearing so we added the Dean SF to our riding motorcycle trousers collection. We took all the characteristics of a normal chino (including a slim fit) and developed this into 100% motorcycle- ready pair of pants. Pants that you'll enjoy wearing even if you don't throw your leg over a bike. Don't be deceived by their casual looks though, these trousers are made out of our signature CORDURA® fabric. They offer unsurpassed tear and abrasion resistance to help keep you safe on the road. The inside of the leg also has blue reflective tape; adding a nice touch of detail to your look. They come in a lighter or darker neutral color so they can easily be combined with almost any item from your wardrobe. Stylish chinos plus motorcycle-ready protection = the Dean SF motorcycle trousers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inconspicuous riding pants I had bought a pair of the Revit Alpha Chinos in Black back in 2021. Hence, my benchmark in comparison for these pants will be the Alpha's. For reference, I am 6'0 feet tall, with a waist line of 33" inches and inseam height of 32" inches. I bought the gravel colour Dean pants in size 33" with the regular height. I found these pants to be a lot more fitted than the Alpha pants. Hence, they are more of a tapered/tight fit. Which is what I wanted. The waist fits me just, so for next time I would likely go one size up than what I regularly wear. The waist button feels like it is made of a rubberized material which is great since it may not scratch your tank but I am hoping I never have to test that. They still have the reflective material on the pant leg cuffs which is a nice touch for night time riding. The good thing with the Dean pants was that the hip protectors came included (I had to buy them separately for the Alpha pants). Both knee and hip protectors are level 1 and I am not sure they would provide too much impact protection but I am hoping to never find out. You cannot (from the size of the protector pockets) upgrade them to level 2 and you probably wouldn't want to since they would surely be more apparent and ruin the fit of the pants. My only gripe with these pants is the positioning of the knee protectors. I have a 2018 Duke 390 and in the riding position, I find the knee protectors shift up towards your thighs a bit more. They are not as bad as the Alpha's but I wonder if getting the tall size of the pants would lower the location of the knee protectors and make them better positioned for when you're riding. The knee protectors are not really adjustable in the pockets, so they will end up where they will end up when you're in your riding position. So before buying them, maybe try them on and sit on a bike to see where everything lands. Overall, they are a great pair of riding pants, that feel warm due to the extra materials but would not make you sweat on hot days and are likely very skid resistant for the same reason of the extra material for skid protection. Also, they provide enough protection with the hip and knee protectors included (though I hope to never test out that theory). You can easily wear these while riding, park your bike and walk around town without anyone even noticing they are riding pants. You'll also forget that you're wearing riding pants! I would definitely recommend a pair if you do not mind the more fitted riding pants look.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent Bought these to avoid typical riding pants looks and materials, and never been a fan of jeans. Went with Tarmac color, which in my eyes has a faint olive color vs a grey, no other options for other colors unless you're a fan of black. Value: These were more than I wanted to spend for basic riding pants, and there are practically no other options for chinos style pants. They seem well constructed and the fit is decent, if they last several years then I could consider it money well spent - only had them for a month as of this review. Fit: For reference, I'm 5'11", 175 lbs, athletic build. Everyday pants are Vans Chinos (slim) in a W33 / L32, they sit low but don't fall down. I initially ordered the Deans in W33 / L34 and W34 / L32, hoping that the W33 / L34 would be the ones to keep. had to place another order for W34 / L34. W33 / L34 - Waist fit nice, but they got pretty snug when crouching / bending. Length was spot on, no exposed ankle in riding position compared to the usual Vans Chinos. W34 / L32 - Had more room in the waist, and they sink a little lower than my Vans but still do not fall down. If I were to wear these off the bike for a length of time I would consider a belt to help keep them a bit higher. For just riding around and limited walking they're fine. Length again spot on, but would expose ankles in the riding position just as the Vans Chinos. W34 / L34 - 3rd times the charm. Fit is bang on for my needs. Airflow: These are thick and somewhat heavy, you notice right away picking them up. There is some airflow at speeds > 50 kph, if you get stuck in traffic you'll know you're wearing these. Protection: Hip pads and knee pads sit in decent positions for myself when riding. When walking around the knee pads drop just below my kneecaps as the pants ride low due to the sizing I went with. Being a thicker material these should hold up alright in slow speed slides, hopefully I don't find out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice and very covert My legs feel safe, the material is clearly resilient, there are some minor drawbacks. I find the material is pinching behind my knee when I'm riding, but that is to be expected with any high durability material, it could MAYBE be avoided if there was an extra layer of a comfort material but I know that would make it hotter to wear, so I'm willing to live with it and I know it's an intentional design choice. I feel as though the knee pads are great, but the hip pads are a little small. Lastly, they fit a little loose. The pant legs fit good, but I am usually between a 30 and a 32 so was so happy to see they had a 31 option. 31 is absolutely, positively, make no mistake about it; my size. They aren't falling off, but they do sag a little bit on the hips, which is exacerbated by their extreme weight. Not a big deal when you're riding, but I know most people avoid belts on their bike, so might be a problem when you get to where you're going. Which brings me to the final point and the reason I bought the pants: These are delightfully covert. Every single person I have come across in these pants did not know they were riding pants until I told them. They look like completely regular pants. If the price is right for you, I highly recommend this product. Since they have the in between sizes most places normally don't have, maybe go one size down if you can.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from More "skinny" than "slim" My current riding pants are a pair of Revit Cargo V1 in W31/L32 bought in 2020, which due to a listing mishap at the time, were listed as W32/L31. They fit tight but were obviously good enough for 4 years of riding. These barely fit now at 5'11" 185lb (muscular), but I can still wear them which is important. I like Revit quality and really wanted another pair of casual "normal" riding pants. I ordered W34/L32, thinking if I can still wear a 31 waist, a 34 should be roomy and comfortable. For reference, my most comfortable pair of pants is a W34/L30 pair of slim chinos which I wear often. The 34 waist does not feel much bigger than most 32 or 33 waist pants I have. These fit skinny in both the thigh and calf area which is unlike other "slim" pants I have - usually binding around the calf and mid-thigh is something I only find in "skinny" pants. When wearing these in a sitting position, they get very tight around the back of the knee and through the inner thigh to the tailbone. The colour of the pants is more of an unsaturated olive green, not a neutral gray as I expected. In the picture they are laid against an "olive green" Revit jacket, with a neutral gray shirt beside to contrast. I was disappointed when putting these on with my dark grey riding jacket and other black gear, because it's obvious they look green. These seem like quality pants. They come with armor in the hips and knees, and the hardware is the same as the other Revit pants I have which have been going strong for 4 years. These do not look like riding pants which is exactly what I wanted. All in all, I was looking for slim grey riding pants. These are skinny olive green riding pants, which is different from what I expected, so I will keep looking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Office ready / smart looking AA pant I'm wearing these on my couch right now because they are so comfy. Pros: they are very smart looking and I can wear them to work with dress shirts, polos and t shirts all just as well. They are a nice slim fit, but not skinny or ridiculous. The armour is tolerable and discreet, I have not found the desire to take them out yet. Cons: they are not very breathable or ventilated and they are not stretchy like a pair of hiking pants. However these are ok by me since these are my most protective (AA), all seasons pant. There is room can for long johns under them and rain paints over them. I recommend for highly safe, comfy, office grade style. I do not recommend for a summer specific pant or anything else as there is a better suited pant for everything outside this office/smart look niche.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from comfy, well sewn, and dont look bad I ordered 34/34 initially. The measurements are too size, so although they are comfortable to wear when walking around, they are a bit too tight around the waist when sitting down. I highly suggest you order your normal length, but go up one size in the waist - you wont regret it. I have my doubts with the single layer fabric as it feels like there wont be enough protection if a fall occurs. However, I have more ease of mind with the nice built in knee and hip pads. Overall, I think you can find the same protection with a different pair of pants for a cheaper price, but you can genuinely tell just by holding the pants that the extra ~$80 gets you an overall better quality.

Is the size listings reversed? That is, is it length/width (normally it is width/length)?
