Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great protection and quality in this pant. Like many, I have read my fair share of reviews that have helped me make purchase decisions. When it comes to these pants, I went to the usual websites to try and obtain information. I found some great information but there were some gaps against my riding style and climate. I figured I would share what was missing for me in the other reviews I read. It is my hope that this will be of benefit to someone else. Also, I feel like it is the least I can do for the hours of Ryan F9 Videos I watched at no cost to me. Here is my riding requirements: I ride in Western Prairies Canada so 2-3 Season Riding depending on the year. In the spring I rider in 16-18 degrees Celsius and in the summer average 18-24. We don’t get alot of hot days in the western prairies. We often get daily thunder storms so you can expect rain in the afternoon on many rides. My gear. Bike: Ducati Xdiavel - Cruiser style stance, no windshield or fairings for wind Jacket: ReviT Akira Air https://fortnine.ca/en/motorcycle-riding-gear/revit-akira-air-vintage-jacket Boots:Sidi Canyon Pro Gortex https://fortnine.ca/en/motorcycle-riding-gear/sidi-canyon-gore-boots Gloves: Revit Cayene Pro’s https://fortnine.ca/en/revit-cayenne-pro-gloves Pants: Revit Ignition 3 pants: https://fortnine.ca/en/revit-ignition-3-pants My Riding Goals: My bike has nothing more than a mini tailbag for cargo so i don’t have a lot of room to back extra layers and rain gear for warm or wet weather. I have attempted to find a riding gear “unicorn” in that i want my gear to do everything without having too much seasonal extra. I think i got as close as i can get. Feet: I bought the boots I did as they are gortex and hot or cold, wet or dry the work very well in all weather. I wear marino wool socks and they keep me very warm on colder days and because of their breathability i can easily wear them in mid 20’s and my feet cool. Also Marino doesn’t stink after wear so great on multi-day trips. Hands: My gloves are not water proof but they are very cool on hot days. To deal with cold days I added heated grips to my bike. Honestly i am on my 4th bike and almost 20 years riding and i don’t know why I didnt heat my grips sooner. In western Canada this is a must. For days it rains i slip on Klim Split Finger Rain Gloves. With the grip heat my hands stay warm and with the Klim’s they are dry. I do find the split fingers are only 7 out of 10 comfortable on the grips. Cruise control helps with this discomfort on long rides. I read lots of reviews on these not working well in rain but they have never failed me. https://fortnine.ca/en/klim-forecast-split-finger-gloves Jacket: This one was tough to solve for. I wanted the coolest (and best looking) Jacket possible that i could add warmth too in order to cover the widest temperature range. I landed on a full perf RevIt Akira Air. Great for hot days but you really have to plan your cool weather strategy. The Jacket comes with a vest liner but at 16 degrees ambient temp it is cold for my taste (I hardly use it). I used to ride with a marino base layer on in the spring (and vest liner) but the wind was still an issue at 16 degrees. The problem with akira is beyond insulation, it is the wind and the perferations. My first solution (and still my summer solution) was a wind proof jacket from MEC. I bought a very small slim fitting one as this akira doesn’t allow alot of room for layers if you size it small. So 18 and above i wear the wind proof jacket (or not) and an appropriate base layer for the day (marino or tee shirt). If it gets really hot i can lose the wind proof layer as it packs small. For the cooler spring and fall days i needed to address both wind and warmth. My workaround was a heated jacket base layer. Without the heat on it is just right for 18-20 degree days and it blocks wind great. In fact since i got the heated base layer i barely use the windproof layer any more. The heated base layer is just so much more versatile and there are days i didn’t think I would need it and glad i wore it. For example, in the evenings (or Mountains) when the temperature drops to 10-12 you can just click on the heat. Again this allows me to wear my gear for almost any riding conditions and not have to pack 2 different sets which you often do in Canada. For Rain I layer on a RevIt Rain Jacket. It packs small in its own duffle and I feel safer with the High Viz yellow when riding behind a semi in a cloud of mist. https://fortnine.ca/en/revit-cyclone-2-h2o-rain-jacket . Pants: This was the reason for this review. I used to only wear riding jeans but again without a good thermal base layer they were cool in spring. I also felt like I wanted more padded armour protection. For this I bought the Revit Ignition 3. I purchased 2 sizes from Fortnine 46 and 48 for sizing. I must have tried each pair on a dozen times. They both fit good in their own way. I ended up keeping the 46 and the return process on the 48 was beyond effortless (thanks fortnine). The 46 fit snug but as I said earlier i wanted slim fitting gear. I also anticipated that these would stretch over time given they were partially leather. So why the Ingition 3? Well, for much of the same reason as the Akira. They are cool on hot days, and with a mild base layer they are warm in the cold. I have not had them in conditions so cold that i would get thermal pants yet. Marino Base layers seem to do the trick for these pants. On warmer days i do wear a compression style tight just to have something between my skin and the pant. To me they feel a bit scratchy against the skin. They also have a rain layer membrane so once again, on a long trip, i can leave home with that hyrdogaurd layer on and not worry about having to stop and change for the wet. These pants do flow a lot of air. Sitting on a cruiser with no windshield and fairing you get a draft up your inner thigh. Again this is great for hot days but also manageable with a base layer. The pants and the jacket zip together very well. The zippers for the rain membrane in the pants are a little tedious but you have to appreciate they are small or they would scratch your skin. The pants also fit nice over my sidi boots. There is a long and a short version of the pants but i didnt enter the sizes where that came into play. I am 5’8“ and around 157lbs. The one thing i will validate on these pants is that they are tight above the knee and below the belt line. It isn’t unconfortable but i wouldn’t mind if this area stretched out. I was waiting to ride with these in the rain to tell you how the performed but haven’t done so yet and wanted to get this review out there. Lastly, if you have read any reviews about the protectiveness of this pant then you have read they are solid. CE armour and heavy leather make these feel like you are wearing very safe gear. Hope this review helps someone in some way, ride safe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable riding pants but a little roomy I bought size 50 because the matching jacket is size 50 and that is the combination recommended. The jacket is a perfect fit but the pants seem a bit roomy I probably should have order a 48 and a 50 and sent back the one that didn't fit correctly.
