In the case of severe angular impact, the individual Memory foam layers will shift relative to one another, resulting in impact dispersion over a larger effective surface area, and therefore minimizing the energy that is transmitted to the spine and back.

Fit was great and it seems to be very protective. I hope to never really need to test it on the road. It is pretty thick, so keep that in mind if you have a tight fitting jacket

What are the dimensions of this back pad?
