Description

Quickly and easily breaks 40 & 50 type chain. Easily press-fits tight tolerance 40, 50 O-ring chain sideplates to the correct depth for clip or rivet link installation. Flares RK's special rivet pin hole rivet links. New design allows components to lock into tool body and larger pressure bolt for easier use without dropping tool components.

Redesigned sure-grip handle and laser engraved part number for easier part identification. The new press fit holder plate features a reversible post to switch between clip plate and rivet plate. The redesigned Rivet Flare Pin now features a flare guard to prevent over riveting. Limited lifetime warranty on material and craftsmanship of the Tool Body.

Replaceable spare components and 40 series parts available.

I've even returned one of the other brands sold on this site after it broke under minimal force. This one, however, is by far the best I've used. I noticed someone mentioned the pin broke while they were trying to break a chain. In most cases, that happens when you're trying to drive out a flared or crimped pin without grinding it down first. If you're removing a chain, it's highly recommended to grind the pin head flush before using the tool. That way, you're only pushing the pin through—not forcing the flared end—which would stress and likely break just about any tool.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Exploded Do more research than I did. Everything was working fine, the product looked like good quality. Then it came time to break the chain on my KTM, i could feel it working, until it didn’t. With a loud snap it blew apart, breaking into three pieces.

It appears to be well made and I like that replacement parts are available for it if I break something. It comes with a case so nothing will get lost.
