This is a super clean chain lube, in fact, this lube is not a self-cleaning lube, it simply picks up little or no dirt.
Application Instructions:
- Shake well and apply a stream of lube to the chain at the cassette
- Do not drip the lube on like you would oil. This is not oil!
- Get the chain really wet, this stuff cleans and lubes all in one
- Freewheel the chain backwards for about 5 seconds...no less
- Wipe off all the excess lube, all of it, wipe the chain as clean as it will get

Clean, cheap, and very effective!
I use it for road and dry dirt, lube every ride or two (nothing elaborate, just wipe-lube-wipe), and chains last years. Despite being marketed in its early days as a road product, it's their best product for any dry conditions.
Solvent content is high, so it's thinner than many modern wax lubes, which probably does a better job of accessing the inner parts of the chain. In any case, it's the results that matter and the chain stays far cleaner than with oil-based lubes, nearly as clean as pure paraffin products, and chain life is up there with exotic lubricants at a fraction of the price.
Partial solidification will occur near freezing. Warm it, give it a good shake, and it still flows into the chain even if the bike is a little below freezing.
