- How it works: Each of the 2 exhaust cam lobes are equipped with a spring loaded compression release lobe on the heel of the cam at the point where the valve would normally be fully closed. The lobe holds the exhaust valve open slightly at cranking speed. This releases some of the compression, making the engine much easier to crank. Once the engine starts, and rpm increases, the compression release lobe is centrifugally retracted and the engine runs normally, with full compression, and without any loss in performance. This allows a stock starter and battery to start nearly any engine

Just about to buy my second set of these cams!
I installed these cams in my 103" 2007 FLHX in 2011 and have just reached 200K KMs on them. In a word, Flawless! They have never let me down. Gobs of power throughout the RPM range, easy starting, install and forget - exactly what you'd expect from S&S.
So why am I changing them out for a second set? Dirt or something nasty got in and scored the roller tip on the tappets and the cam lobes. Sh&T happens.

High Expectations - Met
I bought this set of Cams to replace an existing, used set of the same manufacturer/grind for my 103" that had been Pro dyno-tuned with street ported heads. First set performed flawlessly for well over 200K KMs and would still be useable. Replaced to satisfy my own over-indulged needs.
These cams (E-Z Start) are the best choice for higher compression engines (10:1+) or those experiencing repeated starter-stall issues. Never failed me.

Great Product
Just installed these in my Stage 4 96” to 103 engine job with 10.5:1 compression and I am impressed. Easy starting and a nasty sounding idle, with good riding characteristics and nice mid, to excellent top end power.

Looking forward to trying the Easy Start Cams
Bought the easy start cams at the beginning of January and have installed them. Have to wait till spring to test them out. Looks very well made and I am glad I made the choice to go with the Easy Start.

There are a ton of different ideas about cams and frankly I'm not smart enough or concerned enough to learn about everything. I called S&S told them about my bike and they said best bet was the MR103.
It's not dyno'd yet but I'm sure it will be just fine.
