Questions
I have a 2018 road glide with a stage 1. Will I need to buy other components to make the bike reliable, or can the stock parts on the bike deal with all the new torque and power? ie different clutch? Bigger throttle body?
According to S&S, you will want to upgrade the clutch.

What is the difference between the 585ce sand the 585ge thanks
The CE version is for Chain driven cams (standard on Twin Cam models). The GE is for Gear driven cams. Gear driven cams require less than or equal to 0.003" run-out on the pinion shaft to prevent engine damage. Special tools are made to check this and aren't terribly expensive. From the S&S Manual: "Pinion shaft run out must be verified before installing gear drive camshafts (.003” max)" Don't assume it's OK, no matter what the age or the mileage on your bike is. Harley has a maximum run-out allowance on their pinion shafts of up to 0.012" right from the factory. Your bike may have had 0.004" or more run-out before it even hit the sales floor. This kind of run-out with Gear driven cams will destroy your engine. This is why H-D went with Chain driven cams, they're much more tolerant to pinion run-out and tend to be quieter than Gear driven ones. If you have more than 0.003" run-out and still want Gear driven cams, you either have to have your crank balanced and trued (expensive) or replace it with a solid one like those from S&S (even more expensive). Look at S&S's Youtube channel for info on why their crankshafts are superior to the stock ones.
