Rated 3 out of 5 by from Forget the G-Tech and get the Explorer. I'm a daily rider, and have had this seat for two summers now. The stock seat was just terrible, specially for the passenger. My girlfriend and I would ride for an hour, then stop in order to give her a break. As expected, the G-Tech took a little while to break in, but when it did, it was an absolute delight. We could ride for hours on end. However, after 4 short months, the seat became completely discoloured, not the leather part, but the fabric covering most of the seat. I wish Saddlemen had been upfront about the fact that this could/would happen after a few months of use. I actually spoke to them before purchasing the seat but they never mentioned this. And now, 15 months after purchase (3 months past the warranty period), the rider's seat is actually ripping, not at the seams but at the top. And to think that I paid extra for the G-Tech. Do yourself a favour and get the Explorer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement for worn OEM seat Very comfortable seat, as in the description it did take a while to break in, the write up says it will take about 200 miles, I found it took a little longer and I am a big guy (240 lb). I had put a similar Saddleman on my previous bike in 1999 and it was very comfortable, this new one is even better.

          Questions

If ordering the Saddlemen Explorer G-Tech seat with backrest, does the mounting hardware for the backrest come with it? My original seat does not have a backrest so there is no mounting bracket on the fender.

          Asked by: J W Wagonmaster
The backrests are built into the seat and do not require any additional mounting hardware.
