Have been looking for a long-haul seat for my Vulcan 900. After reviewing the usual suspects, the Saddlemen Explorer looked to meet my needs at a reasonable price. The drivers seat is a bit lower and a bit forward from stock, allowing it to be more angular. This seems to have eliminated the "hammock" effect that made the stock seat so uncomfortable. Passengers have reported the back to be much more comfortable. Gel padding in both front and back adds to the comfort. Installation was pretty easy and I think the seat looks great. Only caveats - optional backrest would have been nice and I preferred one sans studs, but this was the only one available at the time. I've not had a chance to do a long haul with it yet, but have noticed a much more comfy ride just around town.

2nd Saddlemen seat
Haven't had a chance to try this one out, being winter in Canada, but soon I hope. This is my 2nd Saddlemen seat for this bike. I have a solo seat as well, and just loved it. My wife decided that she wanted to ride with me, so there was no hesitayion on what seat to purchase. I normally put between 15,000 to 20,000 km a season on my bike. For comfort, and value, you can't go wrong with a Saddlemen seat!

Very happy
Great seat, reminds me of my old Corbin seat, not super plush but great support and can put on lots of miles and feel fresh. It does seem to push you a bit closer to the tank but still comfortable and I’m 6ft tall.

Beautiful workmanship
Excellent fit, only complaint is the back rest adjustment screw is a little too short. I had to replace it with a longer screw.

Great features
I bought this last month at FortNine and drove approximately 700 Kms for about 9 hours total from Concord Ontario to Kincardine Ontario at Inverhuron provincial park ! The longest ride by myself! No more back pain and your butt is ok not like the stock seat. Wish I upgraded and bought this when I got my bike but money is always a big consideration. Now I’m happy

Good price
Bought for wifes 2010 Kawasaki 900 classic. Nice seat, drops her down a inch but also brings her forward which is wierd because my buddy bought the same seat but for his Vstar 1300 and it brings his butt back. Looks great on both bikes. Also sèat is narrower than my wifes stock seat.

Questions
I've looked at this seat for the 2006 vn2000 Classic LT and it says not compatible. Can you tell me why that is, are the bolt patterns different or is is some other reason? Thank you

This seat is listed by Saddlemen as fitting all VN2000 Vulcan's from 2004-2010. If there is any difference in the classic like a passenger seat, there may be some modifications needed in order to bolt this in correctly. For more information please contact Saddlemen. www.saddlemen.com.

Does this seat come with a driver backrest
Hi Ernie,
Once you choose the make/model/year of your vehicle you will see the options available for your bike. I believe you are looking at the 8102J version of this seat, which does in fact come with the driver backrest.
