                  Description

The Scorpion EXO-AT960 Modular Helmet - Topographic Series - has evolved from one of the most popular Adventure Motorcycle helmets on the market; the EXO-AT950.

The EXO-AT960 can be used as a full face ADV helmet with external peak visor attached, or the peak visor can be removed for a more aerodynamic touring helmet. The oversized eye port is extremely wide for greater peripheral vision and downward visibility, and the modular chin bar can be conveniently flipped up.

The internal drop down Speedview® sun-visor allows you to adjust to changing lighting conditions throughout the day. Additionally, the no-fog Everclear® face shield can be removed and you can use the EXO-AT960 with goggles for off-road use. Three shell sizes made of Advanced Polycarbonate and dual density EPS, result in a helmet that is light weight, strong, and protective.

For those who need to stay connected, the EXO-AT960 was specifically designed to integrate with the new EXO-COM® BlueTooth® Communicator Kit (Sold Separately) while the large speaker pockets also make it compatible with many other com systems in the market.

                  Design and Protection:

                  • Advanced Polycarbonate shell - Industry-leading polycarbonate shell is engineered to be lightweight, strong and maximize impact displacement
                  • Advanced EPS - Multi-layer EPS provides superior energy displacement
                  • Strategically placed channels - Throughout the EPS foam provide increased airflow
                  • CAD-refined aerodynamics - Result in a streamlined profile and balanced footprint, minimizing both lift and turbulence for a smoother, quieter, and more stable ride

                  Comfort:

                  • Aero-Tuned Ventilation - One large intake vent on top, forcing cool air in while exhaust vents maximize movement of hot air out of the helmet
                  • KwikWick-C Comfort Liner - Removable and washable moisture wicking & anti-microbial liner fabric keeps you cool and dry in warm weather, and warm in cool weather
                  • KwikFit® - 3D Contoured cheek pads allow easy on and off of the most common styles of eye glasses
                  • Dual Position mouth vent - Allows the 1st position to act as a defroster and 2nd position acts as defroster and ventilation (closeable from the inside)

                  Shield:

                  • EverClear Anti-fog Face Shield - Electric, optically-clear, shatter resistant, anti-scratch hardened coating & 95% UVA/UVB protection
                  • Retractable and adjustable Everclear Anti-fog SpeedView Sun-Visor - Choose the up or down position with an easy-lever mechanism
                  • Wide eye port - Allows for greater peripheral vision and downward visibility. When the face shield is removed the eye port accommodates most sizes and brands of goggles (eye port is 11 cm tall).

                  Versatility:

                  • External peak visor - Can be easily removed to improve the aerodynamics for long distance touring
                  • Easy-use Flip-up Chin Bar - Features a single lever release which allows the chin bar to be raised or lowered with either hand

                  Other:

                  • Compatible with EXO-COM® - Seamlessly integrates with the EXO-COM® BlueTooth® Communicator Kit (Sold Separately)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 5 rides 5 rides is all I got before the drop visor lever broke off. The helmet isn't great at all. I thought I'd give scorpion a try but honestly regret wasting my money. There are better options for the money. Just my 2 cents

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lackluster Helmet I bought this helmet to replace my old Scorpion EXO GT920. I thought, it's the same company and the helmet has a lot of the same features, but I was wrong. This helmet has very bad airflow, which is a huge problem for me as I get super sweaty and hot while riding. It feels like it gets maybe 20% of the airflow of my old GT920. Pretty sure the vent in the rear of the helmet is the reason, its basically non existent. I wanted a new helmet with a wider field of vision, which this helmet has, but that's pretty much where the pros end. This helmet seems to be affected very heavily by wind buffeting (with or without the visor) and just doesn't feel right on my head. The liner on top of my head keeps popping out when I take the helmet off and it's just nowhere near as comfortable out of the box as my previous scorpion lids were. I do not recommend this helmet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good features, poor quality Just received my AT960 and first impressions were good. I was hoping to replace my tired Bell MX9 but this isn't the helmet that will do it.  As I have stated, I've been riding with a MX9 so I am not used to luxury! The Scorpion seemed ok initially, with the helmet definitely seeming equal if not better quality of the MX9. The MX9 leaks like a screen door so the closable vents and neck and chin cushions are an upgrade on the AT960. Now for big issue, the screen/shield doesn't seal along the top of the helmet (see pics). I can fit a doubled over piece of paper between the seal and screen/shield. This will leak just as bad as my MX9. The problem is two fold 1) the front of the helmet above the shield flexes alot and 2) the shield isn't shaped correctly to make a good seal when closed. Another issue but wouldn't be a deal breaker is the place you'd have to put a comms unit on the helmet, you'd make it work if that was the only issue. Last but not least the sizing if off by a full size to the small side. Order one size bigger than the sizing chart says, why they can't get that right is beyond me! I was hoping this mid-range helmet would do the trick but it ain't so. Return initiated and shipping label printed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Extremely good helmet for the price. I actually bought this to replace another AT960 that was stolen. Such a good helmet, it was worth replacing rather than using something else. Cons: It's heavy, and loud. Both are normal downsides to a modular helmet, so shouldn't be surprising - you can get quieter and/or lighter modular helmets, but they cost *significantly* more. Pros: Excellent feature set - Very good internal venting and fog resistance due to the way incoming air is blown up along the visor. Massive airflow when the vents are fully open. Drop down sunvisor mechanism works well and is reliable, peak is removeable leaving the helmet looking like a traditional sport helmet. Speaker pockets are well sized for Sena or Cardo headsets. Visor detents feel good and hold the visor where you put it reliably without being loud or annoying. Heated and dual pane visors are available. ECE22.06 rated. It's a phenomenal helmet at a reasonable price. There's a compartment for Scorpion's own comm system but I've never investing in that, preferring to keep a matching comm system to my fellow riders for better mesh networking support.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Initial Impressions I just received this last week and have taken it on a couple rides so far and the latest one was over 600km for coffee. The tip of the sun visor does vibrate a bit in the wind but makes no noise, nor can I feel it in the helmet. It is very minor and I don't have an issue with it. It is much nicer at high speeds than my DSX1 and it does not try and pull or head back or to the sides. There are no rattles etc, just the wind noise going past the sides of the helmet. It is a good looking helmet, but looking at the shell it does not seem to be as well made as my HJC RHPA helmets or my DSX1. I tried the AT950 a couple years ago but the fit was terrible and I sent it back. This one fits much larger than the 950s did. My head falls right between a M and L and I bought the L. As the helmet breaks in I find it a tad looser than I usually fit my helmets. I may have to go to thicker cheek pads down the road. Noise wise it is louder than my HJC DSX1 but not annoyingly so. I am riding a DR fitted with a small Parabellum shield to keep the wind pressure off of my chest on the highway. Everyone's setup will change how the helmet sounds. I have a Sena 30K with 50S HD speakers installed in this helmet with no issues. You just have to be very careful where you place the clamp as to not crush the cable for the drop down visor. If I have any issues with the helmet down the road I will update, for now I am happy with my purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from For the budget conscious and Low KM tourer. This helmet is a good budget option. Fit and finish is excellent and colour matched my high vis jacket. I wear a large and the first 2 days it was tight, then it molded to my head and was quite comfortable. The helmet is slightly noisier than my scorpion transformer helmet but not overly so. Shoei and Schubert’s make quieter helmets but they are double+ the price point. Also I had difficulties getting a good air flow to keep this helmet from fogging up so I had to ride with the shield cracked which of course allows water to flow in the inside of the shield creating other issues. With a Dickie on the neck and rain jacket tucked under chin and the air guard of the helmet not much air flows. I will see if I can direct more air by playing with the windshield of the bike to see if that helps.
