Where a Trials tire falls short in braking and lose soil conditions, the Shinko 505 "Cheater" bridges that gap to make it the ultimate hybrid off-road tire. It's so good that - it's almost like cheating!
- Hybrid Hard Enduro / Extreme single track trail tire finds traction in the most extreme conditions
- Best of both worlds, soft sticky rubber compound like the Trail Pro trials tire in a knobby tread pattern to work in a wider variety of soil conditions
- Adds confidence even in the most demanding terrain
- Available in popular 18" and 19" sizes

Excellent hard enduro-type tire
60 hours on this tire so far this year, finally getting close to changing it for a new one. Very soft, gummy tire. If I went on looks alone, I would have changed it out 20 hours ago, but even though all of its knobs are rounded and half the size of my new replacement, it just keeps gripping on the hard, jagged rock and snotty roots we ride in the areas west of Calgary. Not so great in the mud or sand, but we don't have any sand here, and stay clear of the mud as much as possible.

Cheater is right
I only have one ride on this tire so can't comment on wear, but I was very impressed with the traction. My bike climbs like a mountain goat up steep, Rocky BC terrain. This is the trials bike like traction I've been after. If it's anywhere near as good in the wet season this will be my go to tire. I'm running 7 psi with a uhd tube. The stiff sidewalls negate the need for tubeliss imo.

Outstanding Grip
I purchased this tire because I thought it would be well suited to my riding style. Which is 60% woods and 40% mixed trails (rock, gravel, sand, mud). It performs very well when woods riding, and I don't really have any complaints when riding trails either. It performs great, especially at sub 12 PSI or lower if you're running Tubliss on your bike.
Oh, and install was a piece of cake compared to some other harder composite tires I've run in the past.

Awesome tire
This tire works phenomenaly. If you want a tire that hooks and transfers power to the ground even with a big bike this is the tire. Works amazing on all surfaces even holds up really well at 15 psi and rocky terrain.

Great tire, great price
Only a couple rides on the new tire. Works great. Running with Tubliss and 6-8 PSI. Went with 120/90-18. Holy @#%@ that's a big / tall tire.

Perfect for West Coast riding
Have had this on my KTM 500 and KTM 350. Excellent grab on the wet roots and rocks of the west coast. Pretty soft so I'm not riding road with it at all, I'm getting about 1500-1800kms in hard double track and lots of rutty, nutty single track. Definitely recommend for the Pacific North West

Excellent traction
This tire hooks up amazingly well on wet logs and roots. I have about 10hrs on it and has shown very little wear. It doesn’t seem to be as good in corners as the Michelin S12 but definitely has better straight line traction. Will definitely buy again.

Super soft tire that hooks up
It’s still early spring conditions with frost in the ground. I ve only had two rides (6hrs) on the tire and so far it’s great. Coming from the stock mx tire, I now have traction everywhere. I can’t wait to hit the trunk road and climb those rocky hills

Questions
What's the difference between the 505 and the 525 tire?
Shinko states that the 505 cheater tire is better when you're riding dry hard packed dirt, whereas the 525 cheater works better in more of a loamy loose dirt.

Are these street legal?
No, the Shinko 505 Hybrid Cheater Rear Tire is not road legal, it is a hybrid off-road tire.

Why is this called a ‘cheater tire’?
I think it’s because it’s so good it’s like your “ cheating” it is good. We have found the 525 is even better. Haven’t ran another 505 since trying those.

Is this tire DOT approved? Looking for one for my 450 EXC-F
No they aren’t. Says “ not for highway use” right on the tire.
