Works great on GT Air 3.
I put my Cardo Freecom 4X on my new Shoei GT air 3 (bought in Europe) and it works perfect. I got the SRL3 and it's beyond bad, so i was glad to have yhis adapter and slap my Cardo on it.

Is it necessary to get this if I want to put a com system on my shoei helmet?
Yes. The Shoei adapter makes coms install super easy. Trying to jam in the clip fit adapter will damage the helmet and increase pressure on the cheek pad on that side. Save yourself the anxiety and use the Shoei adapter.
