Cheap peace of mind
Bought this belly pan to protect oil filter and radiator overflow tank. Well made, easy to install and provides good peace of mind knowing underneath bike is safe.

Not the best fit......
Installed as per the instructions the belly pan hangs far to low, I had to rework the mounting holes in order to raise it's position. It still sits a little low ......

As advertised, a precautionary item
In all my years of riding, and for all the years that this bike has been on the road, this item was not needed. However, reading stories about under side damage and thought this would be 'insurance'. I have also protected my headlights for the same reason. After posting what I did, there were many replies from riders who had had damage. This item installed easily, as advertised and demonstrated on some youtube video. I may never know if it is needed, hence the reason I installed it.

Easy to install
Bought for an 08 gl800. Easy and quick to install took about 10 min from start to finish. I think it is a must for any gl1800 as it will protect the block, oil filter, over flow bottle etc. You would think Honda would have a belly pan as standard equipment.

Doubtful benefit
The manufacturer makes claims about noise reduction and better mileage. If true, it's minimal at best. The access to the oil plug and filter is a pain to align and install. I would suggest assembling the whole unit and marking the alignment before installation.
