Provided template wasn't even close
The provided template wasn't even close to the size of the vent. After a lot of filing and messing around, a $250 windshield broke while trying to fit. Get a windshield with a pre-installed vent.

Windshield vent
Purchased vent online. It arrived quickly. Instructions and template were adequate to cut the vent into the windshield. After installation I found the curvature of the vent did not exactly match the windshield. To compensate I silicones around the outer edge of the vent and now we have a secure and sealed vent. Vent should work well allowing for needed vent action during the hot summer rides. Just got to make a screen to cover the vent openings to keep the bugs out.
