EVO Topring gor Tankbag
Really helpful that F9 sells the topring as a separate item. I have a non-Evo tankbag.
I attached the EVO topring to it and now it is an EVO tankbag!
As always, F9 delivery was prompt and the item was in pristine condition when it arrived.

Thought my latch had failed…
I have the EVO Engage bag on my Tracer. After 3 years of use the latching mechanism froze in the open position. I could force the tabs back into place but then the release cable wouldn’t release.
I thought I was going to have to replace it.
After disassembly I discovered that other than the 4 springs, there’s nothing but plastic in there. No bushings, no Teflon…
I liberally applied some marine grease (plastic safe & waterproof). Problem solved.

can be finnicky to install
I bought the top ring to install on a tank bag I already owned but which used an earlier mounting ring system I used on a previous bike. I haven't actually used the tank bag yet (was a winter project), but the top ring seems to work fine once installed properly to the bag. Initially, when I tightened the installation screws, the mechanism would bind. It took me a few head scratches to realize the screws were bottoming out and deforming the top ring housing. I used shorter screws (provided) and problem solved. The instructions do not warn of this. I was half a beer from either returning the product or disassembling it to see how I might modify what seems to be a simultaneously over- and under-engineered gizmo. (Honestly, I prefer the older SW-Motech tank bag mounting system which is mechanically much simpler but apparently not supported on newer bikes.) Some report of cable failure on earlier versions of the EVO. This one comes with the wire cable pull (which is good). When installed properly, the cable should pull freely and easily. Any binding and it's not installed properly. I hope this review helps someone who runs into the same retrofit installation problem I did.

Beautifully Engineered
I love all the stuff these folk make. I used this unit to convert their old design of tankbag to fit their new and much improved 'low profile' Evo design. Now my wife and I can swap topbags between bikes as we wish
