TCX has changed a few things.
I have owned several TCX riding shoes and love them all.
These are a great shoe as far as quality and looks BUT do not offer much protection as their previous gen models like the Street Ace. No ankle cups and no toe cup. These are basically a pair of Vans with a crushproof sole. The other thing to note is the sizing has changed where these fit more true to size so no need to size down as my experience with the other 5 pairs of TCX that I have owned. Typically I wear a 46 in TCX but the 46 was too small for me in this model.
I did return them and Fortnine was awesome as always for customer service.
I want some protection to go with some style these just didn’t cut it so I managed to find an older gen Street ace.

Nice summer footwear
Feels like the D3O is pretty thin and might not afford much protection. But on the "pros" side, they are comfortable and cooler than my waterproof boots! They are also quite stylish (says my wife). Good summer footwear.

I've been trying different riding shoes for quite some time now. Glad I finally landed on a pair of shoes that fit great, feel amazing on the feet, these shoes are worth it.

This Definitely Needs a Good Review
I would definitely recommend this shoe. Both a cool shoe and gives you peace of mind.
Received this about a month ago during the hottest part of the riding season. Keeps your foot cool despite the heat and is comfortable off bike too both in actual comfort of the shoe and staying cool. The fit is pretty spot on, never been worried about the shoe being taken off in a crash. Really solid traction despite accidentally stepping in oil and trying to navigate on loose gravel lots.
