OptiMate 4 Dual Program CAN-bus edition includes two charging programs; program 1 is for direct charging of a battery, program 2 allows safe and unsupervised charging through a BMW motorcycles CAN-bus controlled 12V socket.

Very good product and company...
Not the easiest manual to understand how to change from standard to the BMW CANbus but the product is great so is the company. Charger plugs directly in the BMW plug and everything works properly. Great warranty on the product. Only downside is the price but as soon as you read "BMW" in a description, the price increase ;)
Additional informations: Had last year a problem with one of their product, wrote to them, they had it sorted. Don't hesitate to buy their product, they stand behind it (and it's when you have a problem that you know if the company is good or not).

Versatile
Needed a tender. And origionally went with the optimate4 because availability of using it through my bikes DIN plug and CANBUS system. I decided to run it direct to battery; bypass the control system of the bike..
Besides...there are more features available when plugged direct (desulfate), and there are adapters included for direct connections.
I put it on my bike.....then move it to the lawn tractor for a bit...then back.

The plug on the product is 120v 60hz for a North American outlet.
