                  Description

Rally jacket is a technical touring jacket in gentlemen style. Absolute balance between classy look and safety. The three-layer construction makes this jacket an all-season equipment. Separate layers made of Tri-Tex membrane (10,000/10,000) and Thermolite thermo insulation lining can be independently connected to the jacket when you need it. Denim panels on the jacket are made of Trilobitex technical denim which contains aramid fibers and nano membrane inside. These attributes give Rally jacket extensive abrasion and water resistant qualities.

Rally jacket is delivered with shoulder and elbow Trilobite Premium Protection CE Level 2 and is prepared for optional installation of CE level 2 Trilobite Premium back protector (sold separately). On sleeves and chest part there are large air vent pockets with mesh inside which let the fresh air in, on the back side there is an air outlet pocket.

All together you will find nine pockets on Rally jacket. At the back side there is an extensive adventure style storage space, inside a cell phone pocket. To increase visibility on road, Rally jacket has a reflective Trilobite logo on the back.

On sleeves and waist there are adjustable straps with buckles to set the right fitting. All zippers on Rally jacket are high quality YKK. The main closure in front is made with YKK thick teeth zipper and Velcro brand hook-and-loop flap. Collar and sleeve rims in leather give this jacket a gentle look. All the flaps and edges are lined with a comfy soft touch fabric.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A bit awkward, but great jacket I've had about 2 months of riding with this jacket as my second, warmer jacket, and wore it during several different types of days and it has held up well. Being able to remove the thermal and the rain layers and open mesh let's it be worn in warmer temps (though I wouldn't use this as a summer jacket), and with all the layers in it is quite warm. I've rode in temps around 2-3 degrees and it keeps the air out and keeps me comfortable even with highway winds. I haven't been in any heavy rain yet but it's held up to light rain, and it seems like it would do well. The awkward part and one star off the review is a couple minor things: First, while I appreciate the idea of adding options, it had a bunch of unnecessary straps on it that look a bit ridiculous (on both arms, and two around the waist). I am not sure the use case for these, because you should be getting clothes that are the right size anyway so extra straps to cinch it tighter just seem weird. Could probably cut them off, but I don't want to damage the jacket. Second, with all the layers and zippers and Velcro it's a bit awkward to get on and feels like wearing 3 coats, but when it is on (and when you get used to it), it really isn't a problem and feels normal zipped up. The neck however is very tight, even if you get a size up, it's a bit of a stretch to snap the neck closed especially if you are wearing a sweater underneath. The wrists are too tight to pull out your hands when they are done up, but I'm okay with it as I just unsnap and then open the zipper for the mesh every time I take it off, which is quick to do. Overall, I'd recommend the jacket for this price point ( I bought it on sale), just be aware it has some weird design decisions and buy a size up like I did(especially if you want to wear a sweater underneath) . ALSO, my jacket shipped with no armor and from other reviews it seems that happens a lot, so make sure you check! Fortnine was fantastic as usual and shipped me out the armor in no time. Don't know if Trilobyte is hoping people don't notice to save some money or what, but just make sure you check.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great looking jacket which feels safe. Great jacket with a good rainjacket insert. Love the look, love the airflow, love the protection I feel I have wearing this. Also - absolutely amazing customer service from Fortnine. I got a jacket which must have been returned as it was missing the elbow and shoulder pads. I was shipped replacements in under a week!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good fit, great looks, solid performance Since recently switching bikes, I unloaded all of my ADV gear and started suiting myself with something more fitting to my new ride. I wanted a classy looking jacket that would offer protection, ventilation and warmth - a good all around 3 season for my fall and spring commutes, plus the rainy summer days. I was looking at this one for a while and lucked out, getting the last 2XL in stock. Fit - to answer my own question from below, yes, the fit of this jacket compares well with the fit of a Rev'it. I have broad shoulders, long arms, and a small waist - pretty athletic build. The waist adjustments on this jacket let you set it to the look you want - wide open it can be pretty boxy and accomodate a Molson muscle, tighten it up for a slimmer build. The two areas that don't compare well - the neck is a bit tight for me. I'll probably remove the button tab and sew some elastic on there (I do like that they've used a hook and loop to hold it open). The other area is the sleeves - they are a bit shorter than the sleeves on the 2XL Sand 3 I had. I wear shirts with 36/37 sleeves - these are borderline in riding position for me. Protection - They call this CE2, but I don't think it is. I'm going to upgrade the pads in the elbows and shoulders and add a good back pad. From what I understand, the denim they used on the impact areas has some extra protection - I don't think the waxed cotton shell will do much for you in a high speed get-off, but it isn't a jacket I bought to exorcise my speed demons anyway - I have a leather jacket for those types of rides. Warmth / dryness - the thermal layer in this jacket is a vest. That said, it sits inside the waterproof detachable shell, and his shell breathes but also cuts the wind really well, so I'm guessing it'll be pretty warm - I'll be putting that to the test over the coming weeks and the temps drop on my daily commute up the 327. As for the dry factor, which is a big part of keeping warm, I put this jacket to a very tough test today - I got caught in a torrential rain storm for a solid hour or more. The outer shell took on a lot of water given its contrustion, but I was completely dry inside. Issues - the two main issues I have are the sleeve length and neck size - I would expect more from a 2Xl. Also, with the rain shell moved there's a sectio of the mesh lining that is rough, almost like it was melted. It's irritating when wearing a short sleeve shirt. This was the last 2Xl in stock, so I'll come up with a fix for it myself - I'm hoping it's a 1-off on tis jacket. Otherwise, the jacket gets top marks from me. As always, customer service at F9 was top notch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent jacket. Quality materiels. Great value. My best jacket so far. Think about sizing larger. I wear size 38, 5´8’’ and 160lbs and I chose medium and it fits perfect. More of a European cut than amercian.

                  Questions

What is the back protector that you need to order for this jacket?

                  Asked by: biscotti87

What is the fit like on this compared to something from Rev'it? I'm XXL in the Sand 3.

                  Asked by: BNads
Never had a Revit or Sand3, however, if it helps: imagine a standard fitting denim jacket - that's what the Trilobite is like. Although the Trilobite Jacket has the side adjusters, so it can get fitted to your waste better. Hope this helps

Which size ICON Viper 1 D3O back protector will fit the pocket of the Large sized jacket? Thanks!

                  Asked by: Getmoresoon
Answer my own question... The ICON Viper 2 fits perfectly. Since the Viper 1 is even thinner it will also fit
