The USWE Airborne MTB Hydration Pack is an action bike backpack beyond anything else out there, full of high-performance features perfect for the mountain bike junkie.
This is probably THE perfect 9 L daypack designed to carry your personal gear and hydration while you're bombing the hills during the 1-day adventure or the gnarly enduro race. This mountain bike backpack is equipped with our bounce free No Dancing Monkey™ (NDM) 4-point harness system, which makes the pack stay snug on you with no bounce even in the most brutal of terrains. The pack will not make you less dirty (because that's totally impossible) but it will make you enjoy the ride!
Plus, if you get thirsty you just grab the drink tube from the super strong magnet clip that's attached to the harness and take a few refreshing zips from the 3.0 liter Elite™ hydration bladder that's buckled up inside the main compartment on your back. USWE picked a premium bladder for you with a Slide-Seal™ top and Plug-N-Play™ coupling for easier handling.
And the total storage capacity of the pack is 9L, distributed by the total of 8 storage pockets including a smart organizer pocket that allows you keep everything organized and in position for quick access. There are also several smart attachment points for your full-face helmet, knee, and elbow pads. It also has a much-needed water resistant and zipped secured phone pocket at the back!

AwkwardI have had about 10 long rides with the pack at this point. I use it to ride forest trails with lots of gnarl. The bag fits very small on me. I'm 188cm tall, 110 cm chest and 85kg. I have the bag maxed out for strap length and it's still too snug. I do wear it over a chest protector, but even so, a man my height but in the low 90's kg not wearing a chest protector would not likely be able to wear this. The upper straps cut into my neck and leave marks. If I had noticed this problem before I rode with the bag and got it dirty I would have returned it. I am going to make some terry cloth pads to wrap the straps with.
I find the hydration bladder really annoying to fill and get in and out of the bag whether it's full or empty, but it does function without issue. After many thorough washings and usage it still leaves the water tasting like chemicals. I plan on buying an aftermarket replacement.
It's claim of "no dancing monkey" is true. The pack stays in place. The hose from the bladder also stays in place and the magnet that holds the bite piece in place is a nice touch. The zippered pouches hold my minimal trail tool kit and minimal first aid kit nicely with a snack bar - so perfect for a half day of hard trails. I wouldn't use this as a day bag for dual sport, it's not big enough to carry snacks and a proper tool and first aid kit - but it's not sold as a big pack. The expandable section would hold a light rain jacket.
My Camel Bak bag that the USWE replaces (only because it's too big - 22L) is 7 years old and has about 400 hours of hard all weather riding on it and is still in great shape. It has resisted tearing through bush whacks, rain, mud, abrasion, hot exhausts, etc. The water bladder never had a funny taste and is also still in great shape. I still use it for DS rides. I'll be interested to see how the USWE holds up to this standard. I suspect the hook and loop attachments on the straps may not last over time.
I was looking for a smaller bag that still carried 3L of water. The strap system had promise - and does deliver on keeping the bag from sloshing around on my back. My smaller riding buddies have no issues with the fit and comfort of the bag. They have also remarked on the taste of the water. It carries what I need for a day of riding (usually about 4-5 hours) but there's no room for little extras So because of the fit/comfort issues and the water bladder issues, for me it's a three star purchase.

Great company, buy from themI bought a USWE backpack after many, many hours of reviewing backpacks - and USWE providers. FortNine had the best combination of product availability and service (colour ways, delivery time, pricing w/ shipping). The pack arrived promptly and perfect as promised. Alas, it didn't fit my body type (6'3" 230 lbs) so, reluctantly, I returned it (in perfect condition). I was not only promptly refunded but the communication throughout the process from start to finish was excellent. I really, really, wanted it to fit - all my friends ride these packs - but I had to send it back, and I am now really, really impressed with the way this company is managed. Customer Service pros. I go here first now to look for other products. Next up - armour! Thanks, FortNine. Sorry it didn't work out. It's me, not you. ;)

Great packI got this pack originally because it had 3L capacity and excellent reviews specific to the fastening. I've been super happy with every aspect of the pact and very surprised at the amount of usable space in such a compact pack.
