Tamed!!
I installed these baffles in the fishtail mufflers and they substantially took the noise down!! Still has a really mellow low down rumble and a bit of a base when you get on it. I criss cross wrapped the batting with a thin SS wire and it seemed to slide into the muffler without too much snagging. If you don't want to be one of those noise makers that give motorcycles a bad babe then these baffles should do the trick!!

Takes the high pitch noise down
Easy to install. Takes the high noise off and makes it sound more throaty....way better!
No need for ear plugs now! Just remember to twist while you install!

Reduced the sound level in half!
The Vance & Hines 3” twin slash installed on my Harley-Davidson Roadster XL1200CX we’re just too loud for my liking. Really didn’t appreciate the higher pitch cracking sounds and even with ear plugs my ears were ringing after an hour ride. Now with these Quiet Baffles installed, the SPL is down 3dB (half loudness) and the sound is exactly what I wanted my bike to sound like. Deep rumble, loud…just not too loud and definitely not obnoxiously loud. Be forewarned, when you open the throttle the exhaust is still LOUD! So, twist open the throttle grip when no police nearby.
Installation is a PAIN!!!! Lots of WD40 sprayed generously on the plastic wrap of the quiet baffles when inserting them into the exhaust, and I still needed to use a round wooden dowel (or rubber handle of a screwdriver would work) to tap them in using a hammer while being careful to not misalign the set screw hole. Go slowly. To remove them, should you wish to put back the original baffles or swap for the insanely loud Competition baffles, a slide hammer was recommended to me by V&H tech support. They fit SNUG!!!

Quieter but still sounds great.
Installed easily. I have a carbureted stage 1 2006 XL1200C. I did not make any tuning changes and the bike runs as well as it did before. I feel I have a little better and smother low to mid torque. I feel it may have lost a little zip if you wind it out. For normal driving it actually feels better and quieter. It's still pretty loud if you nail it. I have even seen a slight improvement with fuel economy and has a nice rumble sound.
I did this as I'm getting concerned about new bi-laws being passed against loud motorcycles. At least now I'm boarder line (I hope).

Simple Easy to Install and Fufil there Purpose
I bought these for my 08 Sportster 1200 the previous owner had out on the V/H short shots although they do sound good they are quite loud and I wanted to make the bike a little more tolerable for everyone else around me. First things first if you want a bike that is near stock sound levels this will not the be product for you but if you are looking to reduce the sound enough to be able to communicate with others at stop lights this is for you. If you want a deeper tone and to reduce overall harshness of the stock V/H pipes this is for you. From what I can tell the baffles probably lower the overall decibels of the exhaust about 7 to 9 decibels when you are just cruising they do an excellent job and you will barley notice the sound of the exhaust. Also I noticed a major performance increase after installing these baffles compared to the stock ones specifically torque there is a lot more low and mid range torque you will get from these. So in my opinion the short shots shoukd have come with these baffles as stock as they are pretty much far superior to the stock ones in everyway. Installation is a breeze leave the plastic on the baffles it will help you slide them in if you are having troubles spray just a tiny bit of wd or pb blaster on the plastic it will help them slide in easier.

Have short shot pipes on my 2020 FXLRS 114ci. These baffles cut the sharpness of the pipes, but still leave the growl. Aren't much quieter, maybe only a couple decibels, but sound better. Come as singles, so order 2 if you have 2 pipes.

Installation Pain
I love the sound reduction these have... still great sound but not blowing my ears out. The wrapping on the baffle was good on one and crap on the other... made it difficult to install. Worst part was the screws.... highly recommend getting them threaded in and out a couple times prior to install.... had a hell of a time getting them started after they were in. Had to remove them.... run the screw in and out then reinstall.

Does the job
Very much improved sound level from outright noisey to subtle growl, also improving back pressure thus running quality.

Would be really useful to know the OD at the point where the mounting/anchor screw is. Maybe the length too?
