Rated 4 out of 5 by from Concern for long term fatigue on attachment points This is a quality finished product and easy to instal direct to my bikes existing anchor points. I’ve just returned from a 2500+ mile trip on varied roads and have a few concerns. The windshield has no support bracket, therefore relies on the four mounting anchor bolts at the base. These anchor points take a lot of strain when passed by large vehicles, wind gusts, sustained wind, corrugated and rough road surfaces. Under these conditions the anchor points flex the plastic dash that it is attached to. My concern is that this continued strain will eventually fatigue the anchor locations on my dash and cause it to crack or break. I’m thinking of replacing this windshield with one with a support bracket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good replacement for stock windscreen I purchased this to replace a scratched stock screen on my BMW GS. I chose the slightly taller model which allows me to have the same coverage as stock but with the screen adjuster dialed down to the lowest position which reduces vibration and strain on the windshield brackets and adjuster while still allowing me to dial it up to a higher position for even more coverage vs. the stock screen.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Strong but has weak mounting points This is a good upgrade over the stock windscreen. I've owned all three sizes for my bike (f650 GS)—19", 12", and now 15". Because of the angle of the front fairing, all three put turbulence at your helmet, so size is just a matter of how much air flow you want. The 12" is good for off-roading since it's less likely to crack at the mounting points, a liability with this screen, and provides good air flow in the heat when you need it yet protects your body on the highway. The 19" is good for touring but limits your full lock unless you get the mirror extenders. Currently I'm trying the 15" with a wind deflector and that is proving to be a good compromise, providing torso protection on the highway and I can direct the airflow as desired. Be careful not to over-tighten the screws or you will crack the screen at the mounting points. It's a strong polycarbonate screen—stronger than acrylic that breaks with your first off—but the mounting points are fragile. In fact, I added some extra rubber plumbing washers to help prevent that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Touring Tall ZTechnik VStream Windshield Excellent Great service from Fortnine as always. Windshield arrived very well packaged. This is a tall touring W/S, on a 2018 BMW 1200 GSA, I am 6'2" and in lowest setting can see over. Higher position looking thru with no distortion but there is very good protection. I use this for long distance trips. Tall windshields should have support as mentioned by the W/S manufacturer. Great product, fit well, easy install. Thank You Fortnine.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quality product, but too much head buffeting? Well constructed. Easy to install on my 2023 BMW F750GS. Blocks wind on my chest area well. My main concern is amount of head buffeting. I bought the 19 inch model which is the correct height according to how to fit a windscreen. However I wonder if a shorter screen might eliminate some of the buffeting. Will be taking a 7,000 km trip in August. Will see how it works out.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good and bad. Very well made with good optical quality. Fitted easily with good quality fasteners. BIG problem is noise and buffet. The height is just enough to buffet your head in the normal riding position so the airflow is not smooth. Also, the GS engine seems to throw a high pitched whine up through the fork area which reflects perfectly off the screen to hit your ears. Even with ear plugs and a very expensive helmet, the noise is deafening and very uncomfortable. I have since removed it and put a very low screen on which is a big improvement. The high screen is good at bug collecting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works really well and fits perfectly! I am 6 feet tall and with the electric windshield motor on my K 1300 GT, I can raise and lower it depending on driving conditions. It is especially helpful at highway speeds.

          Questions

5’-9” which windscreen should I go with ? The tall touring or regular touring ?  Interested in having a quite ride on the bike

          Asked by: CB99
FYI. I am 6’2” and choose the taller one. I am glad that I did. I ride with it at ~90% extension most of the time. I lower it for more airflow (mostly at lower speeds).  Protection is excellent.

How does it compare to the stock windshield? Will it direct the wind (and the bugs) over my helmet?. I'm 5'11" tall.

          Asked by: Tireless
Sorry to be slow to answer. I bought this to replace a very tall windshield that was on my BMW F800GT. I am 6.1 tall and wigh this windshield I get full airflow from my upper chest and up. I wanted that as I love the airflow when I ride.
