Very comfortable!
This is my first real touring jacket so I don't have a lot to compare to, but I am very happy with the quality and with how comfortable this jacket is. I have a very wide chest so many jackets fit pretty tight around the chest area but this one is perfect.

Excellent Jacket
It's comfortable, waterproof, warm when it needs to be, and vents well when you need to cool off. What more can you ask for?

Feature packed and completely waterproof.
This is a great jacket for the price it has a coating under the outer which makes it more waterproof than my technical hardshell that is on par with goretex. It is very warm in the winter if you use it with the lining it does feel way smaller with it in. And without the shoulder area feels relaxed and the armor pockets will accommodate the biggest protectors out there. There are two for chest one for back and shoulders and elbows and the construction on a whole feels solid. I'm small in the middle so after adjusting the mid section Velcros and ammo pockets are a little far from centre but that's alright. One star off for not having high collar.

Don’t believe everything they say…
I read and watched a lot of reviews and even with half of them claiming this wasn’t a great jacket I took a chance. In my opinion for the price it can’t be beat! I live on Vancouver island where rain and variable weather conditions are the norm. The liner is super easy to remove and folds up small but is warm enough when you need it. Hit a couple of rain days and I stayed dry. The air vents are decent enough to keep me cool on the highway but is bit warm when I hit some single tracks and had a heavy work out. Loads of pockets if you’re crazy enough to put things in your pockets.
The armor could be better. I feel vulnerable with the lack of back plate and very light elbow pads. I also found that the collar rubs the neck and can get uncomfortable.

Very Warm Jacket
Just got back into riding last year. Bought a cheap jacket to meat equipment requirements for the safety course unsure if I’d keep it up. Definitely keeping it up so decided to upgrade to a jacket that would protect better from the elements and colder temps. Blown away with how warm this jacket is with just a sweatshirt under. Riding in warm conditions great with the superb venting flaps. Out in 10C temps no problem with flaps closed. Will prob get the pants next year.

Good jacket
Lovely jacket but it fits very small, I would normally be large and I needed 2XL to have a jacket that fits!. Also the armour is very light, be sure you are ok with that. I moved armour from a previous jacket to add back protection it does not come with. On the up side it does seem to be waterproof and once I had the right size is comfortable.

Questions
Sizing with a TechAir 5 vest, size up or stay according to chart?
We would suggest sizing up.
Date published: 2023-11-07
Is this a slim fitting jacket or is there room for layers underneath? I have a few year old large alpine star jacket and it fits more like a medium, it’s to snug for me and I normally take a large. I’m thinking I may need the xl. Cheers Kelly Brooks
Based on reviews we have seen it runs small. We suggest sizing up for this jacket, especially for optimal layering.

It appears the armour can’t be removed or replaced. Am I wrong?
It took me a call to one of Fortnine's employees to find the path to remove the armor. At the bottom inside of the jacket is a zipper inside that is a small Velcro strap once the Velcro is open you can reach all the way to the shoulder and the elbow armor. Small Velcro pockets hold the armor in place.
