Description
A formidable force on street and track, the second generation Alpinestars SMX 6 Drystar Boots have been carefully upgraded without compromising the versatile performance and protection that made the originals such a success. The ergonomics have been refined for increased anatomical fidelity. The accordion stretch paneling has been augmented on the forefoot as well as the back of the ankle for added flexibility and comfort.
The characteristic race-bred protection of the SMX 6 lineage has been preserved via the high modulus TPU bio-mechanical ankle support, injected shin guard, calf protector, heel counter, shift pad and toe slider. Air vents have been integrated into the heel counter and shin plate to aid moisture evaporation and heat evacuation through the Drystar membrane, prolonging rider comfort even under demanding conditions.

So far so good
I haven't had too much time to fully assess waterproofness as it snowed here in December (usually we just get rain in the Lower Mainland), but on the few fairly rainy days I did ride before the snow came, they were watertight.
Initially a little sticky on the foot peg so I needed to pick up my foot to shift or break rather than just slide - however, this is going away with use. Traction is not great, but better than expected. Articulation is good - on the bike, a little stiff for walking, but they are motorcycle boots after all.
Fit is good with one exception. The toe box is nice and wide, so my toes aren't jammed together but the entry into the boot is a little narrow. The main problem for me is zipping up - my calves are pretty big (15") so tucking in pants is not an option unless they are also tight and even then, just into the top inch or so otherwise zipping up is impossible.

Good solid boot.
Boots fit well and are comfortable. The shin protector is very thick so makes it impossible to get jeans over. I died the white bits black as they are a bit flash.

i think everybody should have a pair.
i bought a pair of smx 6 to my wife and she like them very much . she wear 10 in her shoes , so we ordered 42 and it fit perfectly. so she ride them the day after and said that there was great bike feeling with them...good confort and protection

Very comfortable and light boots
Got them today, not through fortnine however, but one of my local shops was able to beat fortnine by a very good margin. Anyways, it's not a riding season here yet so can't comment on waterproofing, but the boots are very comfortable, I've been walking around the house for a few hours and I like them. They are just a little too tight slightly above the ankle but I bet that will break in after some use.
This is my second pair of A* boots and both fit like a glove. However these boots are marked US 9 / EUR 43 and the other pair I have are US 9 / EUR 42. US sizing seems to be uniform across different models, can't say the same about EUR sizing.

I am so worried about what size to get, I am about 9.5 inches from tip of the toes to my heel, what would you recommend?
Based on the size chart you would need a size 38.
