Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sizing Advice I tried to thoroughly research the Bell Moto 3 sizing before purchasing because there were no local dealers listed around me to try it on. The sizing advice was all over the map with size charts contradicting what was on F9 and on Bell's website. My head measurement is 58.5cm, so directly between medium and large. I ended up getting the medium, it was definitely too tight, even after the initial squeeze-in as others pointed out as being difficult. My jaw and chin area was fine, but it put significant pressure on my cranium, to the point where I really don't think it would have broken in enough to be comfortable. I loved the look and feel of the helmet (especially at 39% off!!) so I ordered a large, which Bell and F9 have sized for 59-60cm head circumferences. Immediately, I knew it was the right size. While still tight enough to feel secure, there were no pressure points and after the helmet breaks in a bit, I have confidence it will be even more comfortable. I would describe my head shape as average, perhaps somewhere between a true oval and more rounded; I'm 6'1', 200lbs. For anyone between sizes, if you have anything other than a very thin oval shaped head, I highly recommend sizing UP contrary to many reviews I've found on the Bell Moto 3. One note, for riders who use prescription glasses or want to ride with sunglasses, I recommend avoiding this helmet. Even when sized right, there's minimal chance a pair of glasses will comfortably fit unless you have a particularly thin head or are buying a helmet that's too big. It's still snowing, so I haven't road tested it yet, but once I return the medium, I will be super happy with my purchase and feel it was a great deal for a unique and good looking helmet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new favorite helmet Been riding for 30 years and have owned more helmets than I can remember. This is a great bucket. Fit was a little bit tight, especially around the ears for the first couple of weeks. I knew from past experience it would break in and it has nicely. It's still snug but not annoying. I always get XL Bell helmets and they all seem to fit me the same at first. This helmet is surprisingly light weight. I have owned a couple of modular flip up helmets in the 300 dollar range that made my neck sore after a while - just too heavy. This has no problems of that sort for me. This helmet is less flexible along the sides than a 3/4 bucket, and you can't pull the sides out if you have earbuds in like you can otherwise. I haven't tried earbuds with it yet, but with a helmet liner over the ears it would go on fine. Probably would rip out the buds taking it off though. Also, this helmet is not good with regular eyeglasses. It sort of cups around the temples, so trying to stick glasses in there is super tight. Just use regular goggles or elastic wrap around and it works great. This thing looks dam cool with black aviator leather pilot type glasses. Like, truly Mad Max epic. I've been looking for small spikes to cover the studs along the forehead area, but no luck so far :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good looking helmet... CHECK THE PRODUCTION DATE Ordered this helmet March 21, 2022. Helmet arrived today. PLEASE CHECK THE PRODUCTION DATES. I opened the box and the helmet looks extremely beautiful but after checking the date, the helmet was dated at 12/16 aka December 2016. This means I received a helmet that was 5+ years old... which is pretty much expired. On to the helmet though - I would size up. I am intermediate oval and wear a Small in Arai, but with a Small in this helmet my temples get crushed and I immediately get pressure spots building up. Will be returning. Maybe for a Medium, but I wouldn't want to receive a 5+ year old helmet again..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Careful of head shape Feel much narrower than I expected coming from an hjc. Was uncomfortable and hard to pull on at first but seems to have broken in reasonably quickly. Can't wait for the weather to get better to try it out on the road.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from watch the sizing I have only used Arai's but unfortunately Arai does not make a retro style helmet so I decided to purchase the Moto 3 . Using Bell's sizing chart , I purchased the medium as the internal dimensions looked identical to Arai ( I fit an Arai medium) , however there was so much pressure on temple as soon as I got it on that I had to return it and eventually purchased a large . Fortnine is great to deal with as shipping was fast and the refund was quick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fits 1/2 size large mainly came here to say this helmet fits big. i also own the bullitt and i wear a XL, this helmet i wear a L. i wear a 7 5/8 hat, but based on the measurements i got a size down. size chart says i needed the XL but it would have been flopping around after a week. other than that, i love this helmet. the liner is really comfortable and its surprisingly light. the bullitt will be on the shelf for awhile.

Questions

I have a more rounder face than oval..and my size is 57.5cm..i heard the helmet is quite narrower... so should I go for medium or large..?

Asked by: Jobin
This helmet is a true intermediate oval, so you may find the helmet is too narrow around the cheek area. In these cases, we would suggest trying the next size up, but be mindful that this may compromise the fit of the helmet in other areas.
